Smack bang in the middle of the Urban Village, and acting a bit like the little hidey hole to the extent it can, is the Turkish Cozy Restaurant in Kelvin Grove. Formerly known and Kabil's Kebabs, it has taken the aspects of your usual kebab place in the middle of the city and expanded itself a little bit to include other aspects of Turkish cuisine. This place is decent and serves its purpose. Located right in the heart of the urban village, the Turkish cozy restaurant in Kelvin Grove feels like a little hidden gem. Paid $18 for a one size hsp. While the size is decent, the fries were tasteless and soggy. The meat was fatty and flavourless. I requested bbq sauce, yogurt sauce and sweet chilli and there was a very meager amount of sauce drizzled on top. I could not see or taste any of the sweet chilli at all. So poor on every level- fries, meat and sauce. The service was poor as well. No smile or any friendly welcome. A shame really because I live close by and really wanted to like this place. Wow, I give it a perfect 10/10! I've been ordering from this restaurant for years, and they have never let me down. The focus is on high-quality food, and I've tried every place in Brisbane, but this one is by far the best! Other restaurants often leave me feeling disappointed, but this one consistently delivers. This restaurant offers excellent traditional Turkish cuisine. I ordered the chicken dish and it was fantastic. The meat was tender, the salad was fresh, and the broth complemented the flavorful rice perfectly. I highly recommend it! The atmosphere is friendly and the food is outstanding. It's a casual spot, which I really appreciate.
As for parking, you can enjoy two hours of free undercover parking or find free street parking after 7 PM. Overall, I would rate the food a solid 5, the service a 5, and the atmosphere also a 5. There is plenty of parking available, making your visit convenient. If you dine in for dinner, expect to spend between A$1–20 per person.
