Honestly I have eaten here a couple of times before and have enjoyed it. It’s obviously not the best ramen but it’s good and close by. The service is also usually good. Tonight I went to get some dinner and wanted to try the dumplings. I was in shock when I bit into one of them and realized it didn’t taste right the pork inside was RAW. R A W I felt sick to my stomach, my waitress was hiding but one lady was nice enough to give me my refund, sad to write this review but hope it never happens againI personally won’t be returning here but thanks kan ya for the other experiences please do better.
It's great when you find a restaurant with good food; it's even BETTER when you are greeted and served by some of the most lovely people. Sue has really made Kan Ya an enjoyable and great atmosphere for me everytime that I stop to get food. She always smiles and is ready to serve you with much care and attentivenes. She is constantly checking in on you and making sure that everything is going well. I am grateful for Sue--stay kind!!!! Service: Dine in
We googled this place as we drove back home from the airport. We got pleasantly surprised. The location is really good. Free street parking and conveniently located in Elmhurst downtown. Ramen was great. We got chicken ramen, chicken spicy and pork. The three were quite good. Great value. We paid $105 for 5, included 1 beer and 1 glass of wine. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5
We could've just gone on an off day but my partner got the Original Tonkatsu ramen and it was very bland and the noodles were too soft. The ramen egg however was very good. The fried rice was also very average, was Chinese fried rice rather than Japanese. Sushi was decent, no complaints there. Very expensive for a very average to poor meal experience. Service: Dine in

It’s unfortunately that I had to part ways with this place. This was my go to ramen place in the suburbs. But every time I come back, its getting worst and worst. From service to food to broth! You cannot play around with the broth. That’s what makes the ramen! Makes me feel like the place is getting sabotaged but hopefully not. Food: 2 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 1
The food is good but the service really brings the rating down. The waitress forced me to tip when she did the bare minimum- if that. Then she made a face and snatched the cash out of my hand and walked away without saying thank you. Every time I do takeout they mess up my order. Food: 3 Service: 1 Atmosphere: 4
