Kaskade 1 La Nucia

I am unsure of what to say to convey to you the place this restaurant holds in my heart. I am from the US but spend every summer with my German grandparents in Spain. They have been going to Kaskade for the better part of 30 years with kids, grandchildren, and friends in tow. As soon as you walk in, the owner Ubaldo greets you and it feels like you're home. The food is always excellent and the atmosphere surrounded by trees on the open air patio is one of a kind. If you're looking to be treated like family and served some delicious food, please stop in for dinner.

Decided to try this restaurant which is close to our summer house in La Nucia. Ordered both starter and main course and found the food very disappointing, especially the steak which was overcooked and presented on the plate with only the gravy and no salad or vegetables of any kind. The service was also slow and not very friendly. With several other and much better alternative restaurants near by, I doubt if we'll give Kaskade a second chance.

What a hidden gem! The place for a superb meal in a relaxing environment. The staff goes above and beyond for you and the dishes are prepared to a very high standard. I had a French onion soup, the most lovely steak salad and a beautiful coffee for desert. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

During our stay in this area we've visit Kaskade three times. At all occasions the food was good, variety of choices (meat, fish and egg) and a very friendly host. If we decide to come back, we certainly going to have dinner at Kaskade again!

Probably our worst meal ever Endless waiting time. Fish were salted way too much, vegetables just out of the freezer and potatoes overcooked. Incredible, you can cook as bad as this in Spain, where you have wonderful ingredients.
