This is a Japanese restaurant where chef-owners dine. I know because I had a lovely conversation with one during this visit to cozy yet excellent Katsuno. My self-designed tasting menus typically start with the zensai small plates of the chef's choosing. Usually one is kabocha, the other two vary. Consistently delightful way to open the palate. This time, I ordered a first course of madai from Japan unagi and other white fish (senior moment-please pardon me). Beautifully prepared and presented. The tenzaru soba was perfect for a post-beach re-entry into urban life This is a rare neighborhood gem, worth the trip
I have been to Katsuno many times. It is a small restaurant and I really suggest you make a reservation, especially on the weekend. The food has always been excellent and this time, it was just as good as it always has been. Best compliment I can give is if you live in far away, going to Katsuno is worth the trip
The quality of ingredients was excellent and the preparation by the chef was very professional. Our server was very attentive. We were pleasantly surprised by the authenticity of the cuisine and would love to come back!
A very special restaurant that serves aunthentic japanese food as good as any restaurant in Tokyo. The staff and chef deliver consistently amazing dishes that I enjoy all year long.
