Kelseys Original Roadhouse Bowmanville

Yesterday, I realized that I have never had lunch in Bowmanville. I generally do shopping, perhaps get some sorbet (my former hangout closed a while back), and head home. I decided to get some lunch. Where do I go for a lunch bite? I drove across the street from Winners to Kelsey's. I haven't set foot in a Kelsey's in probably a good five years. I was breaking more than one streak. I arrived at around 3 pm. I had to wait for a minute before a man from the bar helped me out. Since it wasn't that busy, I asked for a table and selected a booth in the dining room. Now onto the taste – oh my goodness, these ribs were so dry that the knife I was given struggled to cut through them. One bite was enough to confirm that they were the driest ribs I’ve ever had; they were practically inedible. I decided to focus on my fries and gravy instead. I'm not one to make a scene, but my waitress clearly noticed that I hadn’t eaten a single rib. I expected her to ask if something was wrong, but she didn’t. I also hoped she might offer me a take-out container, but that didn’t happen either. Instead, she brought the bill and left the table with my untouched ribs still sitting there. It was strange that she cleared the rest of the table, but not the plate of ribs.

The highlight of Kelsey's is definitely their wings, without a doubt. I usually order wings from the Bowmanville location, but I've noticed a lack of consistency lately. Sometimes they come out dry with barely any sauce, while other times they're completely soaked. Even when I specifically request my wings to be extra saucy, I still run into the same issue. However, I do appreciate the friendly staff who frequently check in to ensure everything is to my liking.

Will never return. Service was fine despite being a little busy. The food was just awful, one meal was barely touched, as it was both cold and tasted off. They did not take it off the bill. Also the drinks tasted off, a strong chemical flavour and was barely touched, they again apologized and they again were still on the bill. They gave us a coupon for an particular appetizer. Traveling through on business, so I dropped in for lunch. Service was fast and friendly. The food was good and came out quickly. What more could you ask for? If I was ever in this town again I would feel very comfortable going here for lunch or dinner. I ordered the breakfast quesadilla which came with some fried potatoes. Everything was very tasty.

The food here is great but I do often have some wait times with the bartenders. I confess, I use this place mostly for takeout. I call in my order and then drive over to pick it up. While I wait, I am never asked if I want a drink or anything- I am hoping things improve because the food is pretty good.

I’m not sure why this place has such low ratings. I came in for a light dinner and a couple of drinks, and I found it to be excellent. The staff at the bar were attentive, the food was delicious, and overall, I left feeling very satisfied with my experience.

Ouch, they messed up almost everything. Undercooked chicken, terrible wait time, bad service. It was a dreadful 2 hour and 15 minutes of my life, no exaggeration. I work at a restaurant and am very displeased with what happened tonight at Kelsey's. -Brady Reserva una mesa ahora

Food is good, but the restaurant definitely needs a face lift inside. The walls have stains and need a good wipe down. The lights have webs and the floor is a different story. Not my first choice when going out.

Was there for lunch today and had the ultimate grilled cheese sandwich with fries. Very good sized portion and delicious. Service was friendly but a bit slow especially since it wasn't busy at all.
