My partner and I recently moved to the area, but I’m familiar with Richmond since my mom grew up nearby and my uncle is buried in Memphis, so we visited often. However, I’ve been missing out on something truly special. Ken’s Country Kitchen should be at the top of your list if you’re in the area. The staff are incredibly friendly and provide outstanding service. The food is fantastic! On our first visit, we had fish and chips along with a Cinnabon Roll (which was incredible). The next day, we returned, and my partner enjoyed breakfast while I tried the Richmond dish—again, it was exceptional! The menu is extensive, so be ready for plenty of choices. The food consistently ranges from good to almost great, depending on what you order, and the waitstaff is lovely and attentive. Meals arrive promptly, and drinks are regularly refilled. However, the restroom could use a thorough cleaning more often; the floors are sticky, and I've had to check for toilet paper in the ladies' room stalls. On two occasions, I had to wait for someone to come in so I could ask for some toilet paper from under the stall. I had a wonderful experience with the service, and the coffee was consistently fresh. I shared a breakfast with a friend, and the portion sizes were very generous. The breakfast itself was enjoyable—superior to what I've had at other similar restaurants in the area. However, I was somewhat disappointed with the pancakes, as they were lacking in flavor.
The atmosphere is anything but quiet, as the manager often walks around and speaks loudly. I dined in for breakfast, and the meal cost between $10 and $20.
