I ordered a veggie quesadilla combo with carrots, cauliflower, and cheese, but I didn't enjoy it at all. The vegetables were not properly sautéed and seasoned before being put on the flattop, resulting in a soggy and mushy quesadilla instead of a crispy one. The combo also included rice, beans, pico de gallo, and lettuce, but it was missing guacamole and sour cream. This deli seems to be trying to imitate Sundance in White Plains and Pleasantville, even using the same sandwich names and ingredients, but they fail at it. Ordered beef tacos and they were out. Asked for red salsa they were out. Asked for green salsa they were out. Looks like they lack planning. I called to provide them input and they seemed not to care and cutoff the conversation. I advised them that if they are going to be in the food restaurant deli business, they need to have the essential items. Salsa is essential and good service as well which both were lacking. I tried eating the food. However, it was bland, lacked salt and salsa a key ingredient and essential ingredient in Mexican food. My advice to management is to reassess and plan to ensure the have the ingredients on a daily basis. Otherwise, I don't see this place being around for...
I'm not sure if it was just an off day, but when I stopped by to pick up some sandwiches for my family, I had to wait almost 20 minutes. The restaurant was uncomfortably hot inside and there didn't seem to be any restrictions on how many people could be inside at once. It quickly got very crowded as there were only two slow workers. Although everyone was wearing masks, it still felt too crowded for my liking so I waited outside. The sandwiches were decent, but they didn't really impress me. Since I live nearby, I might give them another chance, but I left feeling a bit disappointed. I'm interested in trying their Mexican food next time.
I have been here 2-3 times and always for BEC for breakfast. Service has always been fast and efficient. The sandwich has been good and I especially like the home fries that I add on. Side note, I feel as if the additional charge is arbitrary as I think the price varies visit to visit although the order stays the same. I might take the advice of some other Yelpers and try the tacos or the breakfast burrito. For the record, I've tried several other times to stop in on my way to work but I was unable to find a parking spot on the short stretch of road across the street from KK so I just had to keep going. Based on the rating, we were hoping to find a neighborhood gem. Good if you're looking for Mexican deli and love spicy food. I found one piece of pineapple in my Al Pastor tacos, otherwise it was tomato based stewed pork loaded with jalapeños, not for us at all. Slim pickings for drinks and other snacks. If this is rated the top in town, I would pass through next time.
