Khob Khun Thai Food

This is a small mom and pop store in Coquitlam that we went to after our hike at Bunzten lake. We didn’t know what to expect as the place didn’t have too many reviews but were pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. We were a large group and got a variety of items like the vegan and chicken khao suey, panang curry, green thai curry, papaya salad. Everything was very delicious, very well plated and very good quantities too. The server seemed like the owner of the store who was also helping prepare the meals. I had dish number 75 (I apologize for not remembering the name), but it was absolutely delicious! For dessert, I tried the deep-fried banana with ice cream, which was fantastic. The main dish I ordered was incredibly good—I couldn’t believe how full of flavor it was! Our wonderful waitress, Nicki, recommended this dish and took the time to explain the origins of some of the ingredients, which I really appreciated. For most appetizers, you can choose a spice level from 1 to 5, depending on how hot you’d like it.

The tofu in both Pad Thais was spoiled and tasted sour, while the prawns were overcooked. The green curry was overwhelming with bamboo shoots and had an unpleasantly sweet flavor. Additionally, the eggplants were also spoiled and sour. I ended up throwing the rest away and had to reorder from elsewhere. I would definitely advise against ordering from here. You'd be better off getting Thai Express from Lougheed Food Court.

Ordered 66, 27, and 40 from on line menu.People are friendly and knowledgeable.The taste experience . . . some of the best Tai food I have ever tasted in Canada and USA. Flavor rich food (I ordered spicy 3/5 and was nicely balanced).Don't forget the rice or you will miss out on the curry sauces.Only one of three five star ratings I have ever posted in 10 years participating in Google Maps. From the outside the expectations are low, but as you enter the restaurant, you can tell it’s tradition food! The aroma and the flavors are amazing! I have been going to many other very well known places locally but the quality here is a cut above.Anything you have here is going to be great! It’s a must stop for any Thai cuisine lover.

I 've eaten from here a few times now and it 's basically always the same. It 's overall quite authentic compared to some other places that are more 'western ' style. My only complaint is that the dishes don 't have the fresh taste that some other Thai restaurants offer. Otherwise, it 's a solid 4/5.

The staff here are incredibly friendly and the food is absolutely delicious! A few dishes turned out to be spicier than we expected when we got home, but the wonderful team replaced them for us at no extra cost! Such hospitable and amazing people! ^ ^ Overall, I give the food a 5/5.

Ordered for the first time tonight and had THE BEST Thai I’ve had in a long time! I got the green curry, garlic pork and pad Thai with coconut rice. It was delicious and the staff/owners were so polite and kind! I cannot wait to try more!!Food: 5/5 Reserva una mesa ahora

The atmosphere there is quite quaint, and I appreciate that they put more emphasis on the quality of food then decor. I found the food to be very comforting, not overly salty, and truly authentic. We'll be back.Food: 5/5

Hidden gems Family own restaurant. It's yummy and taste exactly in Thai. Love their curry. BBQ chicken and fries noodles. Worth the try.
