This is a great restaurant, we've been here many times and have always enjoyed the food. Our favorite appetizers are the Golden Curry Puffs (incredible! Vietnamese Spring Rolls, and for entrees we love the Sea Bass and stir fry options. The customer service is also amazing. We ordered food to take-out for Valentine's Day, and the restaurant was very busy with take-out orders. We got home and realized that the Golden Curry Puffs we'd ordered didn't make it into our bag. I called to ask for a credit on our next order, but the owner insisted on personally driving them over. He arrived within 5 minutes and wouldn't accept a tip as a thank you, as he apologized and explained that it was their fau...
We tried Khun Thong while visiting our relative's mall which happens to be located there. The décor is simple but appropriate for a Thai restaurant. We had a young server who was gracious and efficient. We didn't realize it was a byob, a plus for many. We ordered a variety of dishes and had a good tasting of their menu. Their curry is very good. Appetizers: Curry puffs Vegetarian spring rolls Steamed dumplings Entrees: Grilled Salmon Fried rice Red curry with shrimp/scallops Drunken noodles with shrimp Blacken noodles Dessert/Beverage: Fried ice cream Thai coconut pudding Thai tea We truly enjoyed the food at Khun Thong and would return when in the area. I've been going to Khun Thon since they opened. The owner and her family are super nice and friendly. The decor is warm and makes you feel comfortable and the food is excellent. it's a BYOB and definitely recommend making reservations especially on weekends. I have noticed a slight decline in the quality/quantity of the food. For example, the grilled seafood mix seemed to have a little less variety and at least the last time I went not as fresh as I remember but all in all we've had great experiences here time and time again and we highly recommend it.
When my 85 year old mother said she enjoyed her lunch here previously, I was a little concerned about trying it. I live in the NYC metro area and have been disappointed with a lot of restaurants in Peoria and the surrounding area. Khun Thon Thai was a pleasant surprise. The food was very good and the service was excellent. My red curry was tasty, albeit a little thinner than I like. If you're in the area, I suggest you give it a try.

We are VEGAN and they have amazing vegan selections. Amazing fresh coconut soup (the BEST I've eaten). Everything is fresh and good. Vietnamese rolls and drunken noodles are wonderful. The owner is a lovely woman who stopped and spoke with us. She always cooks everything fresh and does not compromise. Excellent restaurant. Reservations are recommended on weekends. Wonderful atmosphere.
I love this place! We order our food to go about 3 times a month... The reason I am giving it a 3 star review is because the last two times I've ordered my usual- vegetable fried rice with chicken- they gave it to me with NO chicken. I also ask for it without tomatoes every time as I really don't like tomatoes... And they have had a few occasions where I got tomatoes...
Probably the best spicy rice with chicken I have ever had!!! The food is always hot and amazing. It's a little bit of a drive for us but so worth it! Plus the portions are huge!
We absolutely adore this restaurant! The food is amazing! Every time we visit, the staff is incredibly attentive and friendly. We really enjoy coming here.
