"We came here because apparently it is a staple in El Paso. It has been around for ages. They are known for serving big plates of food for those that have been working outside. I am not sure why this place is so highly rated, because the food was not that good. The rice was good and the chips but the flautas were not, they had no flavor at all. The customer service was great though so that's why they get a 3."

I visited Kiki's Mexican Restaurant on my first night in El Paso, which happened to be on a Sunday. It was one of the few places open after 8, and since our Airbnb host had recommended it, we decided to give it a try. The restaurant appears to be one of the oldest establishments in El Paso, as evidenced by the numerous articles adorning its walls. I distinctly recall coming across an article from 1988, showcasing prices for Enchiladas ranging between $3-4. Fast forward 26 years, and the prices seem to have remained relatively unchanged in today's currency. Opting for the Number 2 combo plate with Brisket, I received 2 Red Enchiladas, One Meat Taco, and One Chile Relleno. This combo offered a...

A Timeless Gem I recently dined at this incredible Mexican restaurant that has been a staple in the community for generations, and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations! The food is simply outstanding. I had the Combo Plate #3, which included a chile relleno, taco, enchilada, and flauta, all served with perfectly cooked rice and beans. Every bite was bursting with authentic flavors. We also tried the brisket machaca, which was tender and savory, accompanied by the classic rice and beans. The servers were exceptionally nice and made us feel right at home with their warm and friendly service. This place truly captures the essence of traditional El Paso cuisine and hospitality. If you're...

Come prepared for a wait, regardless of when you come. Just grab a beer at the bar and wait patiently with everyone else if there's a line. This is a locals' place. Hole in the wall, historic building, friendly family vibe. Very clean. The menu is crazy soooo hard to decide what to order. We got a bowl of caldillo for a shared appetizer, and brisket machaca, picadillo, a beef burrito special for entrees. Best caldillo ever full of green chile, tender beef, and comforting potatoes in a rich broth. Definitely try the acclaimed brisket machaca for a cheesy beefy experience. The picadillo was surprising with a scrumptious hard sear on the beef and a relatively dry texture far different from the...

Today 08.01.24 what a wonderful way to bring in a new month. I came back here for the second time and had what were possibly the best cheese enchiladas I have ever had. If this was Once Upon A Time in Mexico, Johnny Depp would have strolled back to the kitchen and offed the chef they were that delicious. The beans and rice also life changing. The vibe here pure El Paso. The service excellent. 2/2 on providing an excellent meal and a superlative experience overall.
