We have been going to King Palace for years and will continue to do so it's a regular family go to when looking for lots of quick easy food. Servings are large and I don't think we have ever been unable to seat walking...up. The staff I'm sure are at least 4 generations from the same family and are lovely. The food is like the Chinese I remember eating when Chinese restaurants came to Australia a long time ago a little bland with lots of onions but we keep going back so it's reasonable.
We have discovered a gem located above shops in the heart of Gymea. The restaurant has a very traditional Chinese look and feel, reminiscent of restaurants in Australian country towns from 40 years ago. However, this is not a criticism. The food is delicious, the staff are friendly and the service is efficient. We noticed that they have a bustling take away service, which is basic and cost-effective. This is a great spot for affordable Chinese cuisine.
The food at this restaurant is tasty, but it doesn't stand out from other Chinese restaurants in the area. The decor has a 1970s style and could use some updating with new tables, chairs, and carpet. If you're simply looking for a casual Chinese meal, this place is fine. However, if you're planning to celebrate a special occasion, it's best to choose a restaurant with a more polished atmosphere.
We have been using King Palace for years and the food and service remains at a very high quality, particularly for a suburban restaurant. Located right in the heart of Gymea, upstairs and into a nicely appointed restaurant coupled with an events room separate from...the main diners in the restaurant. This is the worst Chinese restaurant in my opinion in the Shire with outdated decor, poor service and lack lustre food. Avoid this restaurant don’t bother! Seek out the Jade Lotus restaurant (Princess Hwy, Kirrawee) or Rosin Court (Sutherland) as they offer much better...alternatives.
My family had a celebration at the King Palace restaurant and we thoroughly enjoyed the meal. We ordered a variety of dishes and shared them amongst ourselves. The waiting staff was friendly and accommodating, making it an ideal place for families.
