This was go to breakfast and tapas bar during our two weeks stay in El Altet with friends...mainly outdoor seating with very few tables indoor. It’s closed on Sundays. The counter inside and outside is open early (6 am)....outdoor seating set up by 8 am. The location is also great as it’s central...on way to beach or airport. Great prices and delicious food too. From tostada (toast) and cafe con leche (express with milk) in the morning to tapas in the evening. I was fortunately to be with locals so I didn’t see a menu but they have them. The wait staff is hit or miss...sometimes attentive and sometimes seem overwhelmed....speak very little English. They get really busy during weekend evenings...seem like it’s a local hangout....all the old men drink their beer early morning to late at night. Sometimes there is a wait for seating but they make up tables as they go. If I’m ever in this little town again, will definitely visit...Susi is great and she also owns the ice cream shop with great flavors next to the restaurant so be sure to grab dessert...they just add it to the tab.
Needing a quick lunch. This is ideal. Situated on the main road side it is visible to all, small but adequate. There is sufficient seating outside. The staff do not speak English and there is no menu as such. Go inside, see the food on offer and order. They cook the meat fresh for you. If you have tasted many tapas or typical Spanish cuisine the taste is not unique or extra special of this food, but the service is fine and not overpriced, although I was inclined to think the final bill was a made up rounded figure for ease. I had a salad, patatas and garlic mayo and the Pinchos. The Pinchos were the best.
Jumped in the airport rental car (use Goldcar for sustained good service) and chucked on Google Maps to get to base in time for a pre midnight platter. Forgot I'd set my route options to avoid motorways for a French trip and suddenly I was lost. Swearing didn't help. Heading back to Alicante airport did though because we stumbled on a kiosk Suzi at Altet. Four cañas and six large tapas racions later we were very well satisfied. A bill of €24 the lot made this our locked in late landing and pre flight favourite for the future. Great work Suzi crew and muchas gracias! Hasta la próxima!
We ate here sometimes and everytime we are satisfied. The local is a tapas bar were a lot of local people eat. They have a good choice of tapas: meat, seafood and vegetables. They prepare the tapas at the moment. All is fresh, tasty and quickly served. Very cheap. For 6-7 tapas and beers we paid 16 euros.
