"Recently had lunch here with a fairly large group. Service was a little slow from a young, inexperienced wait person. Ordered the seafood bento box which was adequate. Liked the presentation, food was just okay. Several people around me had the alternate special which they appeared to enjoy. Disappointed there was no soft shell crab."

We came on a Friday night for dinner this month as we loved the old location/restaurant. We really liked the new location's style and decor. Friendly chefs say hi as you walk in. Our server was quite attentive even though she was dealing with a lot of tables. She brought us tea and got our order in promptly. However we asked for veggie tempura with no shrimp as one of the guests has an allergy and it still came with shrimp... so we got another one which was correct the second time. Edamame was a bit undercooked but well salted.A member of the support staff interrupted our conversation, and asked if we wanted more water during our meal instead of just filling it up. We all said yes and she filled our glasses and slammed them back down on the table after! We were shocked! For dinner we got a few different rolls. The vegetarian rolls were just terrible. No flavour, unripe and hard cucumber, etc.. unfortunately some of the worst sushi I've ever had. I don't eat fish but the guests that ordered tuna and crab rolls really enjoyed them. The deep fried ice cream for desert was a highlight! For three people our meal cost forty two dollars which was quite reasonable. Overall was a disappointing visit but we will give them another try.

Biggest disappointment in a while! (Like, years...)Decided to try it out with a view to finding a go-to place for my weekly sushi fix and our monthly staff lunch. Parked at the side and couldn't get through the "security gates" at the front (felt like I was in East Germany - you've got to see this ridiculous setup to believe it!) despite lots of "Open" signs out front but nothing telling you how you could actually get in! Finally got through the back door.4 people there at 1:20pm...and one of the most "surly" (I'm trying to be kind) waitresses who couldn't answer a simple question ("Is this AYCE or a-la-carte?") without being sarcastic. And when I asked for the manager muttered "whatev..." and walked away.Decided to leave without ordering, but couldn't get out the locked back door ("b...chy girl" hollered "you can just leave this way..." pointing to the front before walking away). Walked through the maze of iron gates to get back to my car 5 minutes later. They may have the best food in the world (HIGHLY UNLIKELY GIVEN HOW LITTLE THEY CARE ABOUT THE REST OF YOUR EXPERIENCE) but I won't know - and neither will anyone I talk to. Because this place will probably (and should be) out of business in the next few weeks...

I have eaten at Kitano on multiple occasions at their old Front St. location and just tried their new Exmouth location last night TWICE because I enjoyed it so much (early dinner and a later dinner with my 15yo son after soccer). The prices cannot be beat! For less that what you would pay at the Great Canadian Superstore for a sushi platter, you can enjoy excellent sushi. The Bento Box for lunch is 9.99. We enjoyed our sushi/nigiri dinners (includes Miso soup and a small salad) for $13-16 each. The salad is a basic iceberg lettuce that needs an upgrade but everything else is phenomenal. Try the squid salad or baby octopus salad and you won't be disappointed! The new location offers a larger area for meetings/parties in one back corner (seats 20?) and 4-5 booths that are semi-enclosed for a more romantic feel along the one wall. Décor is excellent. Easily tripled the seating from their past location.Younger wait staff did not seem as good as the service that I was used to at the old location and I dropped a star for service and the salad.

Now I may be a little biased because I worked here for the first two years it was open. But i must say this is the best sushi in Sarnia. Its not all you can eat but you will be full i can promise that! The staff is a joy to work for as well as to be served by. The location has changed from Front St to Exmouth St (the old lazy duck) and it is under renovation but should be up and running again soon! Can't wait to go for the next grand opening!
