JAPAN via Eat the World Los Angeles) No matter how out of style udon can be, the noodle love of Kagawa Prefecture is front and center at one of Gardena's longest running favorites. The bento $17.95) comes with so much to eat, with compartments of tuna sashimi, chicken karaage, grilled mackerel, pieces of tempura and Japanese root vegetables. A small but filling bowl of tanuki udon, rice, and tempura dipping sauce join the party. While Kotohira is not the place you come for these individual things, altogether the bento is terrific value especially with such a strong bowl of udon. This much good food for less than $20 is not something you find much around town these days.

Kotohira in Gardena provides a warm and authentic dining experience. The food is both delicious and comforting, featuring traditional Japanese flavors that evoke a sense of home. The service is friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall enjoyment of the meal. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, making it an ideal place for a leisurely dining experience. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a true taste of Japanese cuisine!

Went for Okinawa soba, was craving for long time, but somehow i mistakely ordered different meal, forgot to bring my reading glass, lol. Food was average , service us okay, and he was a japanese, presume owner is Japanese. There are too many Japanese restaurants operated by different race. Meaning the taste is little off.

So glad I decided to go here for our first meal in LA. We drove down the coast from San Francisco and was in Santa Monica in the morning and heading to Long Beach. Came here for a late lunch and it was so good and filling not to mention affordable. We were very impressed. Reserva una mesa ahora

Def one of my fave Japanese spots when I’m in the mood for something homemade, filling and delicious. You can’t beat the price for the amount of food you get. My favorite item on the menu is the Saba Set.

Never been to Japan nor i’m Japanese but the food tastes homemade, very tasteful, great service, great portions and prices. It’s always a hit, i love the spicy udon noodles here

The owner is very friendly and the price is great. Potato salad is served as an aperitif, and it is also delicious.

Come for the udon and the squid legs. The rest is good, but really, the udon is why you come. Reserva una mesa ahora

The best bento I’ve had in SoCal. Drove 45min for the food, would do it again.
