Hello everyone! KOYA SUSHI is a delightful sushi restaurant situated in Whittier, just a short drive from the 605 freeway. The menu offers a wide variety of options to choose from. They serve alcohol as well, and I highly recommend trying their house sake. I'm particularly fond of the takoyaki here; it's delicious and definitely worth a taste. The bento boxes are quite generous, too. There's ample parking available outside, but it can fill up quickly, so I suggest arriving a bit early for both lunch and dinner. What a surprise! This place feels like something out of Narnia. From the outside, it looks like a tiny, inconspicuous spot, but once you step inside, you're greeted by a spacious dining area, complete with a drink station and a master counter where sushi chefs skillfully prepare their dishes. We decided to try a teriyaki bento and a few pieces of sushi, just to sample the menu without risking too much financially if it didn't live up to expectations. So...
My bf and I went for lunch before 3 and we also took our 3 year old. They tried charging me $25.50 for my son. All he ate was a small portion of rice and a few teriyaki pieces. Our bill came out to $99 and some change. Luckily my son ate for free so they waved off the fee. The price definitely went up and the service wasn't good because they're under staffed. This was my go to place but for that price I rather go eat better quality sushi over quantity.
Honeslty one of the worst sushi places I have ever been too. For the price, the rolls were not up to the standards. I ordered baked and raw and most of them had a weird taste along with weird smell. The only one that didn't make me gag was the popcorn lobster but even then it was hard to finish. Even the Philadelphia roll was not good. First time trying this place and its safe to say I won't be coming back or recommending.

I moved to the area about eight months ago and this is my favorite place locally. I come here maybe two to three times a month. Every time I come I get good service. All the employees are friendly and the place is clean. The sake is hot and the beer is cold! The all-you-can-eat is decent price and they usually get it out pretty fast
I will not be ordering from this place a second time. Food was overpriced for the quality they delivered. Freshness of ingredients is questionable.The rice on the sushi was tough and flavorless. The lemon on the lemon love roll had seeds and skins that made it bitter and unpleasant.
Horrible service, time after time again. Tried to give them the benefit of the doubt after COVID but service remains shitty. Waited 40min they didn't bring out one order of sushi instead i watched them fulfill online orders. Ignoring the people present. And then up the price!
This place has delicious fresh sushi and the employees are always professional. They seem super patient even during peak. I always feel like they genuinely care about their customers and that makes a huge difference.

The sushi was excellent! We ordered the dinner special, which included miso soup and two rolls, and it was amazing. I highly recommend it!
Very good sushi, friendly and attentive staff. All around excellent experience. Can't wait to do it again!!
