This the best Thai food in Balgowlah and it's very reasonably priced. Chris, the owner knows all his regulars and can remember all your favourite dishes. For us it's the prawns and snow peas and chicken chillie basil. The serves are plentiful, usually resulting in a doggy bag, beautifully cooked and very flavoursome. The place may not look that flash as the decor is a little dated but don't be put off as the food is outstanding and as I have said earlier very reasonable. BYO of course. Give it a try and you'll be back, just like all the other locals.
This is a family favourite, we have been going here for years. We always start with the home made prawn dumplings...sooo yummy. Chris the owner gives great friendly old fashioned service. The whole chilli snapper is the best in Sydney. You get a free mint when you finish. Who doesn't love a free mint. It isn't the fanciest decor but it is authentic and welcoming, we prefer it to many more upmarket restaurants. Great consistently good food and treated as though you are an honoured guest. Plus it's BYO! This place has everything!
Chris the owner has run this restaurant in the same spot for the past 26 years which must tell you something about the quality of his food.We ate there last night and we had our usual of basil ,chilli and garlic stir fried chicken and another dish of prawns and snow peas. Absolutely delicious and generous portions.Chris said that 90% of his customers were locals which is not surprising as his food is consistently good.Give it a try and you won't be disappointed. Oh, it's BYO as well with minimum corkage charge.
On first impressions you would think you were going back to the seventies but behind the dated decor lies this hidden gem of a local Thai. I cannot fault the food and the service is excellent; Chris the host is welcoming and friendly. The restaurant is fully byo beers included which makes it great value and excellent for small groups of up to eight persons.If your passing you will be surprised by this little Thai serving great food at very affordable prices.

For my 60th birthday I wanted to go somewhere special. All family members knew it had to be this great local Thai restaurant. Truly it doesn't get any better. Everything is so fresh and delicious. The whole snapper is amazing. Chris knows how to make you feel special. Old fashioned service with great food! Best place in Balgowlah!
This has got to be the best Thai in Sydney we are here regularly and have friends who travel from outside of Sydney to join us here. Chris is an outstanding host and the food is just amazing every time we try something new it becomes the new favorite. just open the menu close your eyes and point, you will not be disappointed.
Great food and great value. Krung Thai has been around forever and never disappoints. From the owner who personally greets and takes orders (without writing them down) to a continually changing specials menu it is easy to have a happy informal friends and family event. It's our fave local Thai!
We have been eating here for 20 years. Chris is the waiter and is delightful.husband and wife in kitchen. Food is consistent. Love the whole snapper which is served up at your table by the wife or husband owners. Never any bones. They make it look so simple.

A go to local restaurant. Love the host who is always cheery and welcoming and quick to look after all guests. He's old style with an eye that is constantly roving for guests needs. Standard Thai offerings. Always good and reasonably priced and byo.
