Great family atmosphere. That is what I liked best about the Kulmberghaus restaurant. Not only does it have a breathtaking view from its windows (and the nearby watchtower) over Thuringia, but the service is great, and all of the staff are very kind and helpful. The traditional German food is "total lecker" (totally delicious), I had the salad with rot kraut to start with, then a delicious assortment of meats, consisting of duck, beef, and venison. This was accompanied by traditional Thuringian dumplings, and herb potatoes. It has been the best German food I have tasted here. The meat melted in your mouth. Especially the beef. I would definitely return to this magnificent restaurant for lunc...

The Dumplings are really delicious! I had Hirschkeule I would translate that with Elk meat, because I am not sure that it is venison (since I've never had venison) from the hip (not the whole leg hehehe). I don't translate food for a living, I...just eat it. It was really very tasty. My husband had goose and dumplings, and my daughter had fish fingers and dumplings. My Son was the odd one out with french fries and schnitzel. I would definitely come back
wunderbare aussicht über die stadt, sehr gutes essen, große portionen und die bedienung sehr nett und aufmerksam. ohne aufforderung wird zusätzlich mehr sauce serviert, sobald der kellnerin auffällt, dass sie nicht reicht. thüringer klöße traumhaft. einen besuch wert! wir waren sehr zufrieden. der preis kommt einem etwas teuer vor, aber nur bis man gekostet hat.

Das Restaurant ist sehr gut, das Essen schmeckt und das Personal ist wirklich nett und zuvorkommend. Auch der Ausblick über ganz Saalfeld ist wirklich wunderschön. Lediglich die Inneneinrichtung sollte mal wieder erneuert werden, sie wirkt in die Jahre gekommen. Ansonsten aber ein tolles Restaurant welches sehr zu empfehlen ist.
Man merkt an vielen Stellen das die Location und die Betreiber schon etwas in die Jahre gekommen sind, aber die Aussicht und die Thüringer Klöße waren einfach Weltklasse. Das waren so ziemlich die besten Thüringer Klöße die ich seit langem gegessen habe! Empfehlenswert!

Wir waren heute mit 12 Personen zum Essen und ich muss sagen das alle begeistert waren. Besonders die Bedienung war sehr aufmerksam und zuvorkommend, sie brachten extra Klöße und auch Soße. Wir können dieses Restaurant nur empfehlen.
Der gemischte Kuchenteller ist absolut empfehlenswert. Dazu eine herrliche Aussicht, was will man mehr? Selbst für ehemalige Thüringer immer wieder einen Besuch wert.
