A private house open to the public, originally built for a bishop. The brick path to the front door that had a label saying "push the handle". Inside was a large hall with rooms leading from it. One room had home made cakes under glass domes. The friendly hostess explained we could order slices and showed us a menu of drinks. The dining room had small round marble topped tables with three chairs around each. My wife, her nephew and me were three. In one corner was a large tiled stove and a long case clock in the other. on a hot afternoon it was the perfect place to arrive in the cosy, shady interior of the typical Dutch town palace with views of brick houses and brick church! in the middle of the market and closed eutin and yet quiet. historical house, antiques as a search and buy, in between a table with the homemade cakes of the house. very fresh and very tasty. the ambiente has its price, but we have been able to enjoy everything very much.
Well worth looking for tucked in near the castle. The senior couple who run this are devoted to giving great service and delicious cakes. I had Assam tea for a change and it was leaf tea, not bags. We sat in a dining room with a beautiful wooden floor and portraits of previous owners.
