Kuro (in Seminole Hard Rock Hollywood)

My wife and I have been regular dinner visitors at Kuro since late 2022 and we have enjoyed every visit immensely. Chef Nico was the resident chef in 2023 (now departed to Miami) and since replaced by Chef Jason. General Manager Salvatore and all of the numerous servers that have attended to us have shown us first class service every time we have visited. Chef Jason, Sushi Chef Jin and Chef Nara frequently speak to us at our favorite seats at the Omakase sushi bar and they display superb customer service, as do all of the servers that have attended to our party at every visit. It's not a bad restaurant in it of itself, but with some faults. For starter, the omakase platters are NOT omakase sushi. Fish quality is good, probably upper tier, but there is virtually no preparation at all. Just fish and rice (not even a touch of wasabi). Mind you, good fish, and good rice. But for 85 bucks, I was hoping for some more decoration flavor. They should call it a sushi platter, not an omakase platter. The server was great, and the atmosphere was nice. But given the price, a bit lackluster. Note : The Tamago sushi is to avoid. My wife seems to have gotten sick from it.

One of the better restaurants in the Seminole Hard Rock Resort with a great atmosphere and top flight service. It has a selection of traditional Japanese fare but mixed in with some non- traditional dishes with a Japanese flair. Catering to those looking for real Japanese food and also Japanese inspired. A must try if you are at the Seminole Hard Rock. It can get pricey though at the higher end of the menu.
