Upon arrival around 5:20, the host informed us that there wasn’t a sushi chef available, so no sushi or fish dishes could be ordered that evening. We decided to stay and try their Japanese hot dogs and ramen instead. Once seated, we discovered that about half the menu was unavailable, and the selection of tap beers was quite limited. Our server seemed unsure about the options as well; she only checked after we placed our order. The beer we received was diluted, and the food felt overpriced. There was a note stating that the higher prices were to offset their service, which felt unwarranted. When our little one accidentally dropped a plate and broke it, the host reacted with irritation and r...

Don’t leave many reviews, but my first experience was not a good one. Good itself was fine, but maybe only come here if you need to slowly introduce people to Japanese food. More of a fusion place with unique ideas. What really killed my experience was the service. I’m one of the most patient around, but the service was just awful. Probably the worst I have had in years. Was greeted at the door with minimal enthusiasm, food took forever to arrive even just for gyoza and nobody really seemed like the cared to be there. There wasn’t even that many people there either. Could have been a bad night, but I won’t go back willingly unless Im out voted with a group.

If you're wondering whether not not to go to the Minneapolis or St. Paul location--don't go to the St. Paul location. We walked into a half filled restaurant at 6:30 and were told it would be a 45 min wait at first and then an hour and a half. We sucked it up and made an online reservation for later and returned. We're regulars at the MPLS location so expected a similar experience but it was worlds apart. The menus were not up to date, the staff was inattentive and at times rude, and there were many menu items unavailable. Our party of four felt like a huge inconvenience to the staff the entire time. Major fail.

Delicous local Japanese restaurant with a focus on various sushi and sashimi types as well as an extensive Japanese drinks menu.Great vibe for a date night or just to casually enjoy some amazing fresh sushi! The Hamachi roll was delish but the Pressed Sushi is definitely worth trying. I can't say I've ever had that but its worth the flavor.Their cocktails, also phenom. They have everything from Japanese whiskeys, to sake to local beer but our favorite was their Sweet Plum whiskey cocktail (seasonal) and Kyatchi 75 Reserva una mesa ahora

The service was friendly and attentive, but they were out of most drinks. Given the prices listed on the menu, we were hoping for something more exciting, especially since the descriptions of the rolls sounded creative and intriguing. Unfortunately, the sushi we received was decent but quite plain and unremarkable. The skewers were small and not worth the price. Additionally, the restaurant didn’t seem very clean and the decor felt rather chaotic. We won't be returning.

However, what really soured my experience was the service. I'm generally very patient, but this was probably the worst service I've encountered in years. I was greeted with a lackluster welcome, and it took an eternity for our food to arrive (even the gyoza) while the staff seemed indifferent. There weren't even that many customers at the time. It could just have been an off night, but I wouldn't return unless the group strongly disagrees.

Paid $17 for a a finger of whisky but it was definitely more like a teaspoon of whisky. Had sushi and onigiri and the rice was dry and hardly seasoned at all. Paid $13 for a 6 piece maki roll that Target could've done just as well. Everything was way too expensive and the food was not nearly worth the price.

Only place in town that has Japanese style bread/sandwiches! Yakisoba Dog tastes great, especially the rich Mayo. Tonkatsu uses pork shoulder and is very flavorful. Great service too! So no nice. They don't accept tips, that is a plus too. Their service is on point. Reserva una mesa ahora

The ramen was particularly tasty and the tea was delicious too. I liked how the pork in the ramen had a good char to it. Definitely added to the ramen's flavor complexity!
