This is a classic Korean-Chinese restaurant. The menu is not very extensive but they specialize to the nth degree on every single item, most of them comfort food dishes. You can't go wrong with anything you order here. My suggestion, if you are into seafood and are up for something with a decent kick, is to go with their #1 item on the menu, spicy seafood noodle soup, aka Jjamppong. Another two must-try are their classic black bean noodle with diced veggies #6), aka Jajangmyeon, and their fried pork with sweet and sour sauce #16), aka Tangsuyuk. These seem deceptively simple dishes, but not many restaurants make them right like this one. They have several table condiments like vinegar, chili...

I rarely write reviews, but Kyodong Noodle has truly earned a shout out for their exceptional Jjamppong. As someone who hails from Korea, finding authentic Korean flavors can be a challenge. But this place? A real gem! Their Jjamppong is not just good; it's the best I've tasted since leaving Korea. The broth is where the magic happens. It's savory, packed with deep flavors, yet remarkably clean. Unlike many other places, their broth isn't oily or heavy it's a perfect balance that leaves you wanting more. And that's exactly what happened to me; I found myself coming back two days in a row with my wife just to savor that delightful dish again. But it's not just the food that makes Kyodong Noodle...
Jjamppong is one of the foods I eat countless times thanks to my husband who really likes Jjajangmyeon. Today, I came to Lee Man-gu's Gyodong Jjamppong in Rowland Heights thanks to the introduction of an acquaintance. I think I should first thank the friend who introduced me. I wasn't expecting much, but the food was delicious, and I was grateful to the service staff for their friendly and prompt service. I was also grateful to the kind owner who asked me about the taste of the food. I liked the restaurant's atmosphere, which wasn't too over the top, and it was also the best value for money in this recession, so I am publishing this article to let many people know.
The taste has changed. Is the chef Chinese? Isn’t Jjajangmyeon and Jjamppong supposed to be Korean dishes? It doesn't seem like the traditional version of these dishes. Also, when did you start offering table service? Gyo-dong usually has self-service, which is one of the reasons I come here for the convenience. If you're going to serve, then do it properly. It felt like they served me carelessly and were expecting a tip without asking for one. The server even seemed annoyed when I didn't tip, which I found frustrating. If the quality of the food and the service has changed, maybe it’s best not to return. Reserva una mesa ahora
I ordered the japchae rice thinking it was meat-free, but to my surprise, it contained pork. Since I can't eat pork, my lunch was completely ruined. I called the restaurant, and they informed me that it also included beef and pork. I usually inquire about the ingredients before ordering, but this time I trusted the menu. Now, I'm really reluctant to go back.
For the first time in 1964, I tried Jjamppong, which had no taste whatsoever. I thought Jjamppong was a food that could be eaten in any way... Jjamppong is eaten as a soup, but the soup has a bland taste made from water mixed with red pepper powder. The staff were friendly and the restaurant was clean.
Totally love their seafood noodle soup!!Jamppong Noodles Sweet and Sour PorkThe fried rice is alright tho
The menu may be straightforward, but Jjajang Jjamppong is undoubtedly the best in the area! Reserva una mesa ahora
