Upon our first visit, we were unfriendly greeted (borderline scowl) with a 'please go away'. I chalked that up as an atomic reaction to seeing two children in tow and decided to seat ourselves. The dining room itself is literally jammed packed with ill-appointed nicknacks and the open-kitchen is an eye sore, as is the exterior (looks more like a flea-market in central Hanoi). Nonetheless, having lived and travelled extensively throughout Asia, I was willing to accept our waitresses lack of anything resembling customer service and waited for our menus. I must admit that that the first time we came here we were also treated with something of a scowl, but since the Indian in gland had now closed now, we decided to give it a second go.Actually, the second time was much more encouraging. Same woman but totally different attitude - smiling, friendly, reasonably quick service and great food. The food is cooked in an open kitchen with a view from the tables and it tastes and looks fresh. I suspect the owner gets a bit overwhelmed at busy periods. Second time lucky and worth waiting for this time around. And halfway through, a cat walked into the restaurant, said hello to the diners and walked out again.I was rather hoping the chef didn't spot her...
Two of us visited here a week ago. The retaurant didn;t open until 7pm but we didn't have anything to do between 5:30 and 7 so we showed up knowing the place would be closed . The hostess/owner saw us outide and invited us to wait in their outside gazebo - gave us blankets and cushions and we waited less than 15 minutes before being invited into the restuarant (still before 7pm). That started off a personal service that remained throughout. Other reviewers have said the service wasn;t good but we had a totally different experience. This is a family run business and has a certain charm that goes with that. We ordered appetisers, soups and a main and every single dish was absolutely fabulous....
I went there with my girlfriend and another couple. Service was done by a teenager who seems to earn some pocket money or he is an apprentice. The owner, as already noticed by others before, is not the most welcoming and friendly person and so the service is suffering a bit from it. But she was OK. Foodwise we had the ''assortiment vapeur 7pcs'' and ''charbonnade''. Both were ordinary and nothing nice or great at all.So overall it was nothing to remember. And as others already noticed as well, it is expensive for what you get. The Interior is not inviting.We won't return.

The pho soup is the best. Small restaurant with a few tables but great atmosphere. Very nice patio outside. The menu is not big but all dishes are just superb and mouth watering. All dishes are prepared in the small kitchen just on the sides of the tables. So everything is fresh and cooked just before your eyes. Lohan is just a great cook. Restaurant also offers cooking class.
Been here once for lunch and as I am very found of Asian food I did really like this restaurant.Although the menu is not as widely varied as often seen in Chinese restaurants the choice is sufficient and varied.Staff is very friendly and did take the time to tell a little bit about each dish. It is small so I'd certainly recommend to reserve.
As wrote a few other guests already, the lady in charge will not win a price in the contest of the ideal host or friendly waitress.She expects the guest to follow her orders and not to take orders from guest.The food is ok, prices are slightly on the high side.All in all, ok but not much "to write home about".
I am Asian; therefore when it comes to Asian cuisine, I tend to be a little picky. In general, I would say the food suits the European taste more; everything is slightly bland and lack spices.

Very authentic, fresh and tasty vietnamiese cuisine! The lunch "menu" is never a disapointment and all is home made! Better to reserve on week-end thought. Service is OK and the boss is cool!
