La Bella Cucina Glendale

At the restaurant smelled like a mildewy mop had been used on the floor. I wanted to leave then but my son had already spotted chocolate chip pancakes on the menu and begged to stay So we did. And we proceeded to pay for a la carte, mediocre dishes. Such as the French Toast Combo about and not a combo. The only difference from the other french toast on the menu was the addition of fresh berries. Bananas and strawberries came fresh but blueberries were frozen. For there should be eggs and bacon on the plate. Or the stand alone item should be excellent. It was only fine. The waiter was very pleasant and the coffee was decent. Had the place not smelled terribly and had the food been a bit bette...

I don't know if it was because it was new or what but our food took almost an hour. We got there at for brunch and the server took a while to get back to the table and there were only tables in the whole place that were occupied. Then our food arrived at different times so some of us had to wait to eat while it got cold. We were all pretty disappointed with the overall service. The only thing the server did to remedy the situation was off our mimosas. Sadly I don't think I'll be coming back.

This was my second visit to the restaurant. The sevice could not be better. The reception is wasm and inviting. The food is well prepared and flavorful. However, the ambience leaves a lot to be desired. The space seems stiff and the decor is not too inviting. Wish I could give it higher marks. If in Glendale it might be worth a try.

We've had dinner there twice before LACO concerts at the Alex Theater, a few steps away. Food and service are very good.
