"La Belle Epoque was our 2nd attempt at finding a good cassoulet and boy did it deliver. Rich but not heavy with a lovely crunch on top. My partner's lamb was cooked just right, pink and juicy."

My family and I had the chance to go eat at La Belle Epoque during our last trip to France. The food is great! If you want to eat the best Cassoulet with its duck confit, you have to go eat in this family-owned restaurant. The parents and now their son have put their heart and soul in their signature dishes which are a masterpiece of delight, beauty and savor. All the dishes, wine and desserts are savorous.

Nice restaurant, plain decor but welcoming. Does have a couple of outside seating. Good menu but half of it wasn't available the night we visited. Staff friendly and helpful, chef popped round after dinner to see if we enjoyed. Can't complain about the food, but for 4 people it cost €155 without wine or coffees...which we thought was quite over priced....

We were attracted to the restaurant by reviews of its cassoulet (the signature dish of Castelnaudary). Everyone else lunching there seemed to have the same idea. We were not disappointed. It is slightly difficult to find as it is on the fringe of the town. The menu at 26 euros represents good value, and wine by the glass is sensibly priced and sound.

This has to be the gold standard for cassoulet! The broth in the cassoulet was addictive, the beans cooked to perfection, the meat was excellent, although I prefer a less-dense sausage, but the Toulouse sausage is the classic. If you want more duck, order the confit de canard dish. Reservations recommended.
