La Bodeguilla De San Lazaro Santiago De Compostela

It doesn't look like much but the food here was quite good. I had the sauteed mushroom, shrimp and seaweed salad to begin with. They bring it to the table still in the sauce pan. It needed a sprinkle of salt but the the blend of textures was great. My second dish was the seared tuna. It was cut into strips, like sirloin, and lightly sprinkled with sea salt. It tasted remarkably similar to a ham steak. Very different from what I am used to. My friend had the goat cheese and caramelized onion salad and trally liked that too. The sangria was light, not too sweet. Great imagination by the executive chef in an unpretentious setting. I enjoyed it.

I have eaten many times at Bodeguilla and I really like the service and variety of dishes. They specialize in frying pans which have a stir fry of things like mushrooms and prawns, or scrambled eggs with green asparagus, things like that. The fish of the day is always fresh and grilled to perfection, accompanied with salad and potatoes. The traditional platter of ham and assorted cheese is also great. Desserts look great too (haven 't tried, don 't eat lactose).

Was a weird experience as the food was good for the price, however, the customer service was poor. Hoping he was just having a bad day as your drink arriving after your meal after you asked twice is not the best. But price wise awesome.

A good place to dine in fancy style: order two or three dishes to share, a bit of wine (they serve this by the cup) and a dessert and you're done. Quality was good and service efficient.

Staying locally and recommended by hotel. Very good and helpful staff and excellent meals particularly the steak. Recommended to come and try.
