I took my partner to this restaurant for her birthday dinner that had first heard from him on rick stein’s BBC series “Secret France”. what a discovery! first the situation. the restaurant is a chalet and an authentic former farmhouse in a quite remote location at the end of a mountain road, about 5 km from the village rochejean. when they come out of the direction lukewarm and use waze, they do not follow directions when they take them through rochejean, they take them up a steep one-lane farm path, which finally leads to a dirt track and then to a steep mountain. when we discovered it, there was nowhere to go and we landed in the snow in the middle of nowhere. we finally liberated and reac...
perfect for what we wanted. local mountain food well prepared. the only thing that upset us were flying. but what do they expect when the restaurant is next to an alm full of cows? we chose the cancoillotte. we found the cheese ourselves. a bit bland, but the ham was absolutely excellent, and the open fire boiled kartoffels were added to the rustic taste only. add local alcohol, and the house special dessert, and the meal was fantastic. would like to eat here again, but maybe with a fly defense!
I was eating here. the place was full of flying. run on her eating, face and feet! I'd survive those flying, but then they took the reception. we paid 20 euro for a small bottle of white wine, 4 euro for two small, kartoffeln and the list goes on and on. we expected a cozy, inexpensive place with a beautiful ambiente. we have a table next to the door and children screaming like ape. will not be recommending!
this old farmhouse turned into a restaurant is simply great. extremely generous kitchen . from the entrance to the dessert, everything is really great and homemade . in a very nice outdoor setting as in. very good reception, always so delicious, a spacious terrace in a wonderful setting, the barrier gestures are kindly respected without stress and in good mood, only the invoice is a little salty compared to a few years earlier!! that wonderful moments in these places! Thank you.
