Having little other choice on a rainy Sunday evening upon our arrival at Morgat, we opted for a couple of crepes for dinner at this creperie on the port. It was quite a disappointment. Not just because our first dish, a galette (savory crepe) was very ordinary in taste, but because our desert crepes (a simple butter and sugar crepe) was worse than ordinary; in fact it must have been sitting in a pre-cooked pile for quite some time and simply warmed up. It was hardly buttery at all and had the consistency of cardboard.I kind of consider this a major faux pas for a real creperie. One might understand (if not condone) that kind of serving from a fast food takeout creperie that's a tourist trap in Paris, but a sit down creperie? This is really a no-no.The staff was nice enough and service relatively quick, but I couldn't advise anyone with any other choice to eat here.
An excellent creperie in a great spot in a beautiful part of Brittany. They serve the usual range of which is customary in the region but with some additions. For e.g. their buckwheat pancakes are amazing and their caramel butter is exceptional. For me though it was their onions. I ordered a humble cheese and onion crepe but what I got was something remarkable. The onions must have been softened in butter for hours... caramelised, sweet sticky and yummy! Lovely lovely people too!
Service really makes a place stand out. A friendly welcome and good service make this creperie stand out. It's hard to make crepes in any way exceptional so what's nice here is the restaurant and staff. The crepes are pretty good also, both savoury and sweet. You can smell them being freshly made in the kitchen and the "complete"s are particularly tasty.
