We are always on the lookout for croissants that remind us of those from Europe. The one thing my husband and I always miss are good pastries and good baguette. It is so hard to find here because the butter and flour is not the same here in Canada. La boule feels like we are home, beautiful croissants that are flaky, airy and buttery. Loved their eclairs, nice choux pastry and the creme patissiere flavours are so tasty. The passion fruit was tangy and not too sweet. We also sampled the chocolate hazelnut tort, the lemon tart, and the carrot cake. All delicious but the chocolate hazelnut tort was by far the best one I have had, much lighter and moister then Duchess's chocolate cake. The carro...

We read about the lemon tart at La Boule in Tomato magazine and promptly found our way to this quaint, very French café. What a great little find! The pastries are, well, in a word, beautiful. We loved the lemon tart and also the apple gallette. Both were very flavourful and also gorgeous. The crusts were crisp and the fillings were delicious. Next time, I plan to have the chocolate caramel tart. Yummy! The café itself has a wall of windows and understated furniture with great light fixtures. This might just be my new fav!

I came here a few weeks ago to do some work on my laptop, but was pleasantly surprised to learn they didn't have wifi for customers. This was a nice change from other cafes in the city, as you can actually sit and relax while drinking a latte and reading a book. I had a caramel latte, which was amazing. I also had to try a bunch of desserts, and they were also great! I definitely recommend having a florentina if you go! Can't wait to come back.

I have been exploring their offerings for the past three weeks and can recommend:- Mini bites with Cardomon - savory delight well worth the 75 cent charge,- Cherries and cream filled galette with pistachio is very very good,- Double baked hazelnut croissant was too sweet for me, but goes well with coffee, - Double baked almond croissant, and- Double baked pesto crossant was very good. I stopped in for a latte on a Saturday morning before I ran my errands in the Old Strathcona area. This little place is a gem for a morning treat. I picked up some ginger cookies for hubby and he really liked them. There is a fair amount of room for sitting and enjoying your refreshments. Their specialty are their eclairs which are divine.

Try to come here before too many people discover it! This place serves up great pastries, beautiful cakes and an impressive selection of eclairs! They also have wonderful espresso-based beverages and the option of a large french press with coffee that you can share with a few people. This place is an undiscovered gem.

This place was almost straight out of France. The pastries are amazing, I was able to get a coffee as they were closing for the day! Cheers to the owner that gave me a free cookie! The hours are a little suspect tho, its not open early or late.

Every day there is a fine selection of well made pastries, eclairs and full sized and mini tarts. The prices are in line with other similar places, and the execution is good. There is a pleasant seating area, and there is good coffee on offer. Reserva una mesa ahora

First time here. It's not that big but pastries are good. They look really pretty. Whoever the owner is has a great taste on pastries.... Location is great. You can walk on Whyte ave and enjoy other stores and restaurants Highly recommended
