La Caverne - Reservar una mesa

We spent a few days in Eaux chaudes as a base to explore the area and La Caverne was the closest place for us to eat at. This restaurant is located at the end of Eaux Chaudes and it is really the only place in town to eat. Eaux Chaudes in itself is quite small; blink while you are driving and you can almost miss it. But we found it quite enchanting with the mountains, the greenery and the river and creeks.The restaurant is also a hotel, which we will surely try to stay at next time. You can park just outside on side of the road or just before where you can find some parking are in front of residential buildings.As you walk towards the building you can see the terrace area lined with gorgeous...

We were pleased to arrive at La Caverne and were welcomed by Annie who runs the place. We were walkers so were pleased to find good dortoir accommodation. The showers were hot and the loos were clean. Dinner was served in the dining room and it was very good typical local food. Annie took the trouble to leave a picnic breakfast as we had an early start - and on a table outside our room we found a thermos of good coffee and a wide range of breakfast foods. The bill was very reasonable and we would highly recommend La Caverne.

We had the set menu offering a choice of 2 starters, 2 mains and several desserts for 18 euros - incredible value. Despite every table being occupied in this warm, convivial setting, service was pleasant, quick and efficient. The food: salmon tartare or the hearty local soup garbure, lamb or trout and dessert, was all delicious. With a bottle of rose wine our bill for 2 came to 45.50 euros. Highly recommended.

Weekend in a couple in 1/2 pension we will remember! welcome, friendliness, service to clients, as with family! quiet and very pleasant room with view of the valley and the torrent, hearty and famous meals, correct rates. In bonus on the info of the bosses we had the show of the descent of the cows by the road of the Pourtalet...Génial !merci to the whole team for this super we!!!!!!!!!
