La Chenaie - Reservar una mesa

Roadside restaurant in the small Southwest town of LeDeuix. Recommended by cousins who live about 10 miles away. Blown away by the quality, presentation and deliciousness of the food. Took the 30 Euro menu. Started with a hearty bowl of garbure (just like my grandmother used to make). Full of flavor and oh so fresh. Followed by escargots. I expected escargot in filo dough but instead received this beautiful dish of escargots with filo leaves wonderful garlic parsley butter and little garnishes of sweet pepper mousse. Incredible. Main dish was a veal in a mushroom sauce which included the local delicacy mushroom called Cepes. Came with homemade fries, fried zuchini and piperade (fresh tomato/pepper sauce) and a beet cream on the side. Dessert was profiterolles. My party enjoyed a variety of other incredible dishes. If you are coming through the area, stopping here is a must. Great value for real fine local French cuisine. Causal atmosphere and outside seating also available. I recommend making a reservation. This place is very well known. enjoy!

We stopped here en-route to Navarrenx, as it was lunchtime. Although the restaurant was very busy, we were found a table and offered an aperitif. The menu is varied with a high content of local dishes, and all produced by the Chef-Patron to a very high standard. The diners were from right across the board, from a large family gathering, through travellers, to locals. The prices were also extremely good.

A safe... never disappointed. The dishes are excellent. The service is impeccable. Very good value for money in an authentic setting with a warm welcome. Thanks for the good time.

Always a real pleasure to come and eat in this restaurant a very nice waiter and a chef cook at the top a kitchen has melted taste buds and generous dishes.
