The Bottomline is that the food is Excellent! The price is just Right; and the Ambiance is Relaxing! If there's any Downside, I would have to say it's the Parking! They don't have their own Parking Lot so you have to Hope there's Street Parking Available! The restaurant is located in a Busy Section of The Bronx!Parking: There is Plenty of Street Parking! You may have to Park One, Two or Three Blocks away from the Restaurant, But it may be worth it in order to experience the delicious Puerto Rican Cuisine!
One order was suppose to be Fried Shrimp.. we got sautéed shrimp… the sweet plantains were rotten and burnt. They use nasty bag shrimp instead of fresh. Their food had absolutely no flavor. I also had some nasty chicken and shrimp, it had no sauce no flavor. First and last time ordering here. The reviews gotta be just because pr wants to suppose pr. Go to Brisas in castle hill Food is good Everytime. Pack it up La Covina.
The drinks and appetizers were okay for a Spanish restaurant, although I have been to many others. I ordered the mofongo with shrimp, but it had a fishy smell and the taste was disappointing. My boyfriend got the skirt steak, which was overcooked and served in a very small portion. I trusted the Google reviews, but I was definitely let down.
It was our first visit to La Cocina Boricua. The host at the door was very welcoming, and the staff were friendly and attentive. We ordered the rice with black beans, steak with onions, and tostones. Everything was delicious. The only minor issue was that the food wasn’t quite hot enough. We will definitely be returning!

I was pleased with the service, the bartender was awesome. I order two mofongos one with shrimp and the other with pork and I was very disappointed with mofongos we’re too smashed, dry and no flavor, the carne frita was thin pieces and so dry and hard, but the alcapurrias were delicious.
Don't understand Why these People are giving one star. the food was perfect and prepared beautifully. the service was fantastic and very Professional. took my three kids and wife here and I can't wait to go back again .
The food is absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere with the music is amazing. It’s my favorite spot! The staff are very polite and friendly. I will definitely recommend it to all my friends and family!
