We had dinner at this restaurant on an unseasonably wet and cool July evening so we were unable to eat al fresco in the courtyard, and it was here our sad tale began. The inside dining room is a very dull setting indeed. It looks...as if it was last decorated in the 90s with nasty wedding venue style table cloths, dreadful lighting and an overall old fashioned look that did not help create any of the ambiance expected in a restaurant with a good reputation. The chef/owner didn't introduce himself, or welcome us in any way that would be considered polite. He simply dragged a blackboard over and proceeded to take our order. We celebrated our first year of moving to Eymet here. We never got to try this place before because of lockdowns and was pleasantly surprised to have a restaurant this good near us all along. It was a warm summer evening when we visited and...we got seated in the courtyard. My partner and I ordered the same lentil and foie gras starter and rossini steak for main. Both beautifully cooked and seasoned. The steak was served with something like a dauphinois potato but more buttery and creamy. I like to cook this dish but can never copy that smell of hot butter you get in a French restaurant. The Bergerac red which they recommended was smooth and mellow at 30 eur. Surprise, très belle surprise car nous n'avions pas l habitude de nous excentrer de la place centrale avec une crainte de bruit le long de la route.Nous avons essayé et recommandons pour l'accueil personnalisé et la cour extérieure qui est calme est très bien décorée. Ensuite, l'équipe, discrète, juste et à disposition, le chef vient et vous fait partager sa passion, et ensuite, il faut laisser faire, nous avions opté pour le menu à 26€ , saumon fumé maison, chou farcie fait par le chef, et dessert frais au fruit rouge avec sa tarte craquante .Bref , si vous passez : essayez , c'est du frais et maison du début à la fin et c'est tellement rare qu'il faut le dire et le célébrer

Not sure when we will see her again. So pleased we took her...to this special place. We had the three course menu, which felt like 'a la carte '. The prawn starter was the best that I have ever had. So pleased I took the chef 's recommended choice. Dave had lamb for main and the silene spoke volumes! Muille fille, creme brulee, home made selection of ice creams......food heaven.... We were staying across the road at Villa Corisande recommended) and as this restaurant was highly rated on Tripadvisor, we decided to give it a go, and we were so glad we did. The chef, who seems very much in love with his establishment,...does come across slightly eccentric, but in a nice sort of way! He takes your order , and explains everything with so much passion! The starters arrived extremely fast, they were cold, so I can only imagine they had already been plated up. For main, I went for the duck, simply stunning. Desserts were also “ top drawer”. The wine was good but slightly overpriced, don’t let that put you off though.

We love this place. In between lockdowns we managed a couple of weeks staying near Eymet and ate here twice. Have been before, a few years back, and this is still the best place to eat in the area. Welcoming owner and staff. Lovely courtyard...(in the summer). Excellent food. No rush. Just quality from beginning to end. Highly recommended.

Le chef est passionné par ce qu'il fait et ça se voit dans les assiettes.C'est aussi beau que bon!!D'abord le plaisir des yeux, puis celui des papilles.Tout est sans faute, même le prix.Bravo pour toutes ces prouesses.Restaurant à ne pas manquer.
