I was here during the Feria of Xàtiva, and the place was full of people. I chose to get a menu of 12 euros which looked convenient and good. The food took forever to come, they brought me the coke and already poured it on glass, so when the food arrived (at least 20 minutes later), the coke had no gas any longer. Moreover I had to go inside to get the dressing for the salad because they forgot. Same time to wait for the coffee and the dessert, which has no excuse at all really. Everything was ruined also by a really noisy group of people sitting outside which made the experience really bad. I know it was a busy day, but service is a really important matter.
Arrived in Xativa Friday afternoon and just wanted a quick drink whilst waiting to book into our accommodation. The young man and his father that run this place are such nice people! The young man (sorry don;t know his name) showed us around the place and explained what the restaurant was before they took it over. We were so impressed, we returned to eat our evening meal there. We were not disappointed the food is fantastic! We can recommend the suckling pig or manos de ministro, both meals were very tasty. Can't wait to visit again next year!
This restaurant is off the beaten path and well worth the find! We stopped to eat while most people were taking their siesta, but this place is open for business. They make fabulous Agua de Valencia (a lovely, refreshing beverage made with fresh squeezed orange juice and Cava). We ordered a number of dishes off the menu and were pleased with everything we got! The owner is very gracious and made sure we were pleased with our order. Please make a stop here if you are in Xativa! We dined here after we toured the castle up on the hill.
Comimos aquí en nuestra única noche en Xàtiva en febrero. El pueblo estaba muy tranquilo ya que es temporada baja, así que el restaurante estaba vacío aparte de nosotros. La comida era fantástica, casera y local, y nos encantaron todos los platos que el propietario recomendó. Resté una estrella a mi calificación porque el restaurante estaba helado. Sé que es febrero, pero los propietarios deberían arreglar la calefacción si la gente está pagando por comida y bebida.

Tuvimos una deliciosa comida a las 7pm cuando todos los demás restaurantes aún están cerrados, la cocina de La Criolla está abierta todo el día. Disfrutamos de una maravillosa berenjena y delicioso plato de cerdo y pescado. Solo deja que el dueño te ayude a decidir y tendrás una comida perfecta. Buen servicio y amigable. Estamos muy satisfechos. También es bueno cuando estás apurado.
I have been here several times now and although it has been great. On one occasion the food was a little cold but very quickly rectified. the service is good and the welcome is always great. The menu is limited but very good and traditional Spanish food. We will be back.
¡Qué gran hallazgo este pequeño lugar familiar dirigido por una familia! La comida es local y sabrosa, los chicos hacen todo lo posible por atenderte. Tuve que visitar dos veces para asegurarme de que no fuera una casualidad.
Muy bonito bar/restaurante en el antiguo centro de la ciudad. Bonito propietario y buenos precios para el vino de la casa de buen gusto y las grandes tapas.
