The Dufours run this hotel with a warm sympathy; I was booked in late, by my daughter who lives and works in France, and arrived not many minutes before service for dinner finished. My apologies were brushed aside and a superb meal appeared on a mid-week evening. The other diners appeared to be or to have enjoyed their meals equally. Breakfast was equally good value BUT it was the friendliness and interest which makes me write this review; a book was loaned for me to read overnight. This is an example of the best of local, authentic hostelry in France of the old fashioned variety. I commend it wholeheartedly having travelled repeatedly in France over the last 25+ years.
We went to 5 people in this beautiful spacious restaurant room. A service on white tablecloths and the chef who passes to each table to take your opinion. All guests found a dish to their taste, kidneys (special to a soufflé of vegetables. We didn't try lobster (speciality, but we admired the vivarium. (In the corner of the restaurant room .
