We drive pass this restaurant on daily basis so decided to move out of comfort zone and try something new. We were very appealed by the description provided on the website but somewhat disappointed from the moment we arrived. There is not a lot of choice in Gland. So I ended up staying at La Croix Verte. I didn't find the girl at check-in very friendly; even less accommodating for my request for a large bed: fully booked. If the hotel is fully booked...how come the restaurant is completely empty at 20:30? Empty I tell you. I wanted to eat at the restaurant. i was alone. I wanted to read, yet the girl insisted I sat at the small table which would make it difficult for me to read. Why? With all the other tables available, provide a better table! I got convinced that the 38 chf Angus beef sirloin was delicious, so I expected a descent sized steak, Joyce and flavorful. Not Small, full of cartilage and fat and no flavor. Frankly shameless. The setting is nice. The cafe gourmande nice. The service nice...That's it. Pity. Maybe if I had been a man they might have brought out a proper steak. Sometimes I wonder ... Very disappointing.

What promised to be a nice evening in a small village in Vaud turned out to be a highly disappointing experience.Tiny tough steak that passes for a filet with a pretentious smear of vegetable mousse.And they claim to specialise in top quality meat! Not my...idea of a good country bistrot.
