ordered from here a few weeks ago, the beef stew was tasty but the meat was dry and overcooked, there was one small piece of carrot potatoe, waaaaayyyy too much rice and beans, they didnt include the sweet plantains either. plus i asked for extra gravy on the meal, they didnt do as i asked. and they put the salad on top of the whole meal, which is disgusting!the tamale had absolutely no flavor at all, very bland, i threw it out after one bite. the cafe that i ordered was horrible, it was overly sugared and had barely any milk. i wanted to give them a 2nd chance so i ordered the same beef stew today; well that was a giant disappointment again. i asked for very little beans, they gave me a ton...
When I visited La Familia Deli last Friday after a year away, I noticed some positive changes in the decor. There’s now more space to move around and better lighting, making it feel more inviting and open.
The food on the day of my visit was fantastic. The baleadas were especially delicious—arguably some of the best I’ve had on Long Island. I also tried a taco de birria, which was juicy and fresh. The staff were warm and friendly, which is a hallmark of a good Spanish deli.
I will definitely make an effort to visit La Familia Deli and Grill more often for some quality and quick Hispanic food.

WARNING: MOLD IN FOOD. This is the worst restaurant I've ever been to—be careful with what you order. They seem to let their food sit for days and it's never fresh. I ordered a simple bacon, egg, and cheese, and the bread was completely moldy. I can't believe they didn't notice it! It was disgusting. I wish I had taken pictures, but I was too upset at the time. The prices are also way too high for such poor quality. The staff didn’t know how to respond to my complaint.
Unless you speak Spanish the customer service here is absolute garbage. Was holding off a review until now for the benefit of the doubt, but this has happened numerous times. Quality-wise the food is great whenever it does come out but they people working at this establishment are completely partial to certain customer base. I don’t suggest wasting your time unless you have time to waste.

This place is a great spot for lunch- the portions are great for the price. My platter of pepper steak with rice and sweet plantains cost me about $10 and lasted me for lunch and dinner. Staff is super kind and the restaurant can get understandably very busy around lunch time. They have a ton of variety as well, i definitely plan on coming here regularly!
Visited one year ago with my daughter. We Ordered yellow rice and stew chicken . The rice was disappointing. It was undercooked. Never went back again. Don’t people taste food when they are cooking it? Uncooked rice is an easy fix. Add water and lower heat, keep lid on pot and continue cooking ?
I do not recommend this place , food its not fresh , the rice was not cook through, the food its over pricey and its not good , please do yourself a favor and find elsewhere.
Fantastic food at a fair price! The service is excellent as well. I've visited twice and will definitely return!
