The headline dish for this lunch dinner hog roast place is a winner full pig, cooked inside the restaurant served up to your table at the same time as 100 other diners. It's a dramatic event to see the pig being chopped up, the meat is tasty and served simply with potatoes and veggies. Unfortunately they try to accompany it with too many other (cheap) things and miss the mark. That, being said, I will DEFINITELY go back to do it again.. The servings of pork are massive so really there is no need to eat very much else. The problem is that, before that, you get served : crisps, cornichon, bread, pizza margherita, rillettes, paté all of a very average quality. SO by the time you get the pork delivered, you're not that hungry. If I were this place, I'd cut out a few peripheral things and focus on their strength (in my best Ramsay voice). I will be back there mind you, with mates or my family.
The food was great [of course you have to like pork] La Ferme du Bout des Pres is a family dining experience but alas NO HIGH CHAIRS OR BOOSTER CHAIRS AT ALL! Never had them and probably never will! After our meal we were just leaving when a private party [consisting over around thirty persons ,at least ten were under three yrs of age ! I went up to the receptionist and enquired if they were high chairs/booster seats for private parties ,the answer was no ! Our party had a one yr old and it wasn't an easy,pleasurable dining experience for his parents. Leave this venue to adults only and kids over the age of 5 ! ps the little petting zoo and surrounding grounds are geared to children of all ages...at lest the owners got that right ! Maddy O'neill
