After 33 days of strict dieting, my husband and I decided our first 'cheat night' would be at La Fonderie Laval. Wow, what a mistake. Our dinner actually started off great. We began the night with a beef carpaccio entree. It was excellent, then onto the garlic escargots au gratin. Not bad either although the dish could have been served with a bit more crusty bread to soak up all the butter and cheese at the bottom of the bowl. Then the disappointment began...we decided on the most expensive fondue on the menu. That being the 'Fonderie Chinese style'. It was filet mignon, chicken, marinated lamb, scallops, salmon, shrimp and scampis. The menu stated that there was an $8 extra charge to share....
We have been going to La Fonderie Laval often since its opening quite a few years ago already. I think that many of the clients are regulars also. It is packed on week ends so don't forget to make a reservation.You will find on the menu 3 kinds of fondue: cheese, Chinese and bourguignonne ( meat fried in canola oil) . You can have the fondue by itself or as a festin. The latter one consist of :1. Cheese fondue or soup 2. Green salad or Cesar salad with garlic bread 3. Fondue 4. Dessert - for example chocolate fondue 5. Coffee or teaThey offer raclettes also but they have to be reserved in advance.The quality of the food has not decreased since the opening - the soups are really good and home...
We tried this restaurant by purchasing a Tuango coupon for a complet meal for two. $(40) Good meal for two people. Quantity of meats was enough, 3 choices of meats for the supper we wanted, the dipping sauces were great and pretty much all was included. (entrée to the desert, - not the drinks. this is where the get their money back ;) !!! )Wine is REALLY expensive $(25 for 500ml for a good wine though). We brought a 11 year old with us and added it on to the bill. $(14).All in all the experience was good, when I asked for a booth they had no problem to seat us.Total bill after all included $75 excluding tip. This restaurant is excellent! It was my first time dining here and they have 2 locations, one on Rachel St. with a different owner. The food is fresh and we opted for the table d'hote. I ordered the Chinese Fondue Meli Melo, which included filet mignon of beef, chicken, and shrimp. My companion chose the Chinese Maritime Tiger Shrimps, Scallops, and Atlantic Salmon. From appetizers to desserts, everything was delicious and fresh. We visited on a Wednesday night and the quality of the food was still top-notch. The service was also excellent, with a very accommodating, helpful, and funny waiter. The prices are very reasonable and definitely worth it. I highly recommend this restaurant!

I had a great time at this restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely and our server was excellent. Be sure to make a reservation and expect to take your time with the meal (which is not a problem unless you're in a hurry). The food was delicious, especially the maritime plate and chocolate fondue. I would definitely recommend it.
Our date night restaurant! We usually come here twice a year with another couple to enjoy a great night out without the children. We always start with cheese fondue, then have an assorted meat fondue, followed by an excellent chocolate fondue! Bring your appetite!
We went with friends and enjoyed very much the food, the service and the warm ambiance. Everything was good and everyone had a pleasant time. Our waitress Micheline knows her job and we were lucky to be attended by her. We will go back.
Went here with my 22yr old Daughter, what a wonderful experience, restaurant was full of couples, sisters, friends. just a relaxing place to enjoy fondue! The food start to finish was delicious! I will return!

Nice atmosphere great service and large selection of food. Liked it so much we went back again a few days later. My next trip back to Laval Quebec will include a dinner at La Fonderie
Had many items off the menu but the cheese fondue is by far the best! Great ambiance, excellent staff and fast service!
