"Between Arbonne and Milly La Foret. Great brasserie bar, think new owners so not pizza but excellent brasserie food. My Bavette was delicious and the Cafe Gourmand dessert was superb. Excellent prices and nice atmosphere. Highly recommended, try it !!"

On our day off climbing, we went to this restaurant for a long late lunch, which was not that impressive at all with their food. It was not cheap. We had a bottle of white wine; two starters and main dishes. Total bill was 77 Euros. The starters were snails, tastes okay( a bit like the ones you could buy in Waitrose), little greasy though. I had the dish of the day which was a dish of sliced roast beef with some sort of thick dressing and greasy fried potato slices, tastes so so but just nothing special; my partner had a confetti duck, which was just a deep fried duck leg with some very greasy fries; my daughter had a basket of chips, which was some greasy triple fried chips... We wouldn’t go there again!
We drive by this place regularly and we are always amazed by the number of cars parked in the car park given that it is in the middle of nowhere situated between Arbonne-la-Foret and Milly-la-Foret on the Arbonne, Milly road. If you are visiting Fontainebleau and you want to try some great french cuisine, (you have to be a meat love though), avoid all the expensive tourist restaurants in Fontainebleau and drive 10 mins west towards Milly-la-Foret and you will not be disappointed. it is a meat lovers paradise, with generous portions and a warm atmosphere.
This our 2nd visit in the last 6 month. We visited with a large group but it was worthwhile. We had to wait a little but it was worth it. Nice atmosphere, good food and wine. I encourage you to try the confit canard and of course the escargot as an entree. It's a little out of the way but it is never short of car parking space and reasonable food. Don't miss this one when you visit the Bouldering area or the Kings Forest around Fontainebleau. It's particularly popular with the locals.
Some of the best pizzas around Fontainebleau (and some basic salads too). In the summer, the terrace is really welcoming too. Great for takeouts. The owner also rents crash pads and is very chatty (French and English). Will tell you all about the rock climbing areas and more.
