The owner/waitress speaks little English but as your only options are the colour of the house wine and the 2 deserts, it is not a problem. All inclusive 4 course set menu inc 25cl wine for 13 Euros. Pity its lunch only. Lovely simple food and great value. Friendly service and in a small typical French café/bar restaurant. Small terrace too. You start with an extensive (eat all you can)self service buffet .The home made pate was superb. Next is the plat du jour. Ours was chicken and chips with a mushroom sauce. Then its a big plate of cheese to help yourself from, Ice cream or isle flotant finishes it (and the diner) off. Its what I always expected a rural French meal to be but seldom exists.

Visited today for lunch with a group of friends. The new management have renovated the bar and restaurant area and it’s now bright, clean and very welcoming. We had the Plat de Jour which included a starter, main course, dessert and coffee all for just €13.50. The food was freshly cooked on ordering and so tasty. The menu is varied, has a vegetarian option and kids menu too...... The restaurant was full and I wasn’t surprised. In summary, Great Food, Great Service and Great Value.....

tiny little place, no English spoken, she does a set menu each day for about 12 euro, starter is usually a cold buffet which you help yourself to but it is lovely food, mains are usually things like pork steak or paprika chicken breast accompanied by salad and chips, you also get bread, water and a small carafe of house wine and the meal is finished off with a homemade desert, in the summer you can sit on the small terrace opposite the church and watch the world go by...worth a visit

Have passed in the summer many times it was always on our list to call in and then leave it to a snowy day in February. Four courses with coffee and pitcher of wine for 13 euros, just can not be bettered for the price. In the summer there are tables outside below below the church and war memorial. Lac St-Pardoux just down the road without question is worth a visit, new swimming pool, high zip wires, and the lake for swimming and boating. Reserva una mesa ahora

Visited here in July 2018 as part of our caravan holiday to the Lake nearby. Food and service was great with French and English speaking staff. Good menu that catered to our range of different requirements (there were 13 of us! and reasonable prices too. Great addition to our already good and relaxing holiday. Will be back when we return!

We visited today for lunch. Family of 4 adults including 1 vegan. A good selection including several options for vegans and vegetarians. The sweet potato fries were a superb side dish. The deserts were to die for and again included vegan options. All 4 of us including drinks mains desserts €85. We will definitely be back

Having visited La Forge in the past we didn’t know what to expect. The new owner is delightful and the food was exceptionally good. They have made a few alterations to the restaurant but not over done, the ambiance is still very French, worth a visit.

My daughter and I came here twice for lunch. We received a very warm welcome. The food was amazing, completely delicious and the chef went the extra mile for my daughter who is glutin intolerant. All the food was delicious. I wish I lived near by! Reserva una mesa ahora

Authenticity and simplicity, if you want the kind of lunch the everyday French would love to have after a whole morning at work, loved the experience, friendly atmosphere and warm welcome from the owner.

A lovely bistro in the French countryside, menu for all tastes inc comprehensive vegan menu, lovely presentation of dinner and very tasty, will definitely go back with friends.
