My family has been ordering food from La Gladys every Friday, but unfortunately, we have had ongoing issues with their tres leches being expired, which they still include in our orders. Despite this, we remained loyal customers until today. A family member called to place an order and was polite to the woman who answered at the Ossining location. When mentioning that they owed us a tres leches from a previous order due to it being spoiled, the manager said they would send it with our next order. However, the woman on the phone became unexpectedly aggressive and rude, displaying a complete lack of manners and poor customer service. The customer service at La Gladys is disappointing. Recently, I received a spoiled dessert and called to express my concerns, but this is the second time this has happened. Instead of offering a refund, they promised me a free dessert on my next visit, since I had already paid for it. However, when I called today to place an order and request my complimentary dessert, they had no record of it and even raised their voices at me. I won’t be returning. Customers deserve to be treated with respect, and it’s clear they need to improve their employee training.
One year to date since it opened here in our Historic Village of Ossining, this Peruvian Restaurant is one of three with a common owner in Westchester County, New York. I ordered my meal well ahead of time for a 1:00 PM pickup and specifically asked for no crab in my dish. When I arrived at 12:50 PM, I found out that my order had been overlooked. I reiterated my request to leave out the crab, but I don’t believe they understood me, as none of the staff spoke English. I understand that the majority of their customers speak Spanish, but they should have someone on hand who can communicate in English for other patrons. Unfortunately, my dish ended up having crab in it.
La Gladys has really declined. The chaufa con camarones was greasy and featured low-quality rice. The Jalea Familiar was lacking shrimp and was drenched in grease, while my favorite ceviche had rubbery squid and was served warm. I used to love this place, but it’s terrible now. The menu definitely needs some serious improvement.

Great authentic Peruvian food! I ordered chicha morada and lomo saltado con chaufa de pollo. We also tried the papa a la huancaina. Everything was delicious! I look forward to returning to this restaurant in the future!

This restaurant will overlook you if you don't speak Spanish. You'll end up waiting longer and receiving subpar service for your money.
