Monday seems to be the day many restaurants are closed, presumably to recover from the weekend of service. So I checked out restaurants local to Chateau Bourdaisiere where we were going to admire their tomato collection. La Grange was open and just along the road from the Chateau. Thanks Tripadvisor. Simple menu with three choices for starters and mains on the menu de jour. all but one was made in-house. Friendly service and good quality robust food at a modest price. All the other customers on thisSeptember lunch time were local and the staff shook hands and chatted with the couple that followed us in.
We found La Grange somewhat by chance after a stop to see the gardens at Bourdaisiere. La Grange is just a short bike ride away. We loved everything about this restaurant. Everything we had was delicious the Brioche St. Jacques in particular was breathtaking! Service is excellent and friendly. A little oasis.
This delightful restaurant was suggested by the chateau staff; wonderful french food well prepared and a reasonable price. The two woman working there were amazing; easily overcame our language differences. They fly through the dining room with the greatest of ease!!
