On a chilly February day, we enjoyed very warm, attentive and friendly service at la Gravette which we found simply by following our nose, GPS and signs to the port of Audenge. I 'm sorry to read the rather negative reviews, mostly in French. The ambiance...is like being on a cruise ship, loads of photos of famous American and French movie stars, velvet seats, etc. There was a huge choice of seafood dishes, local oysters (of course! , pizza, meat dishes and wine. We loved our lunch and would return again for sure. Note: a small seafood salad at less than 10 euros was gigantic for my senior appetite and so delicious. I would call this a seafood restaurant even though they do pizzas!
I was enjoying my assiette des fruit de Mer until I found a bunch of fly’s eggs on the flesh of one item. The waiter didn’t seem concerned when I pointed them out. My wife’s seafood salad arrived and two large flies (bluebottles)...flew out of the salad when she began to eat it. She also found a batch of fly eggs in there, which she showed to a different waiter who then took the plate away. We couldn’t finish the meal because we had lost our appetites. The cost of my wife’s salad was deducted from the bill but we paid €32 for the remainder. She was sick later. Yes, it was a hot day, but a kitchen shouldn’t allow flies to lay eggs on food. I don’t think we will be returning.
on Saturday night at 19 o'clock and the restaurant was soon busy. sees very attractive in the inner, but we were free as tables already reserved in the interior I enjoyed my filet st pierre with rouge sauce. it was a very tasty piece of fish that was served with delicious sauce, rice, salat and some very beautiful cute carrot plus? my partner had seabreams, which is a crunch fish and was slightly understated. it came with sweet potato and salad. the staff was nice, but busy. I would recommend my choice.
Discovered this place on the second night of a recent three night stay in the area. The food was brilliant. We ate the following night too. I had six of the local oysters for starters. They're supposed to have aphrodisiac qualities, but only three worked...; The staff were very attentive. It's a very popular place and it may be wise to book in advance Reserva una mesa ahora
popular attractive brasserie. very busy, but still little open this early in the season. probably better for la carte to decide as the menu was well for the entree and dessert, but bad main course was a small part of fish with some kartoffel kartoffels lubricated! the staff was friendly and efficient.
The location of the restaurant is great, and very scenic. The food is average, but quite expensive for what it is. However, it's the best flavoured rum I've even consumed, and after 9 shots, I didn't have any kind of hangover the next day, as...it must have been great quality. Good service too.
