My friend and I picked this restaurant from a list of recommendations, and I'm really glad we did! The service was exceptionally friendly, the atmosphere was clean and inviting, and the food was delicious. I ordered the chicken quesadilla, which was massive and filled with juicy meat—I ended up bringing half of it home! My friend opted for the Mistec plate, and I tried both the chicken and beef; they were bursting with flavor. He loves spicy food, so he really appreciated the green sauce. He said the red sauce wasn’t very hot, but I decided to play it safe, LOL. We will definitely be back. The food is simple yet generous, flavorful, and comforting—just like something your grandmother would m...

The food at this restaurant was absolutely fantastic! I visited with a group of four during the balloon fiesta, but after seeing a long line of at least 20 people, we decided to wait and come back the following weekend—and we were so glad we made that choice. Everyone in our group agreed that the food was amazing. I ordered the Verde Chicken Enchiladas, which certainly lived up to the praise they’ve received. The chips were thin and lightly fried, similar to potato chips, and the rice was decent for Albuquerque. However, the refried beans were the standout! They are undoubtedly some of the best refried beans I've ever had in Albuquerque. My only issue was that it took about 15-20 minutes to...

I visited Guelaguetza last night, and I must say, we were incredibly impressed! The owner and chef treated us to a tasting of his three mole recipes, and we couldn't resist trying them. We had a similar tasting at Sazón in Santa Fe, but we found his moles to be just as delightful, if not better. The restaurant has a simple decor and lively mariachi music, creating a warm atmosphere that made the food feel like it was prepared by grandma. We enjoyed birria tacos, shrimp tacos, and chicken enchiladas, all paired with the three moles. Everything was absolutely amazing! The staff is fantastic—friendly and genuinely proud of their delicious offerings. I highly recommend this place to everyone!

Finding a variety of Mexican cuisines in Albuquerque can be surprisingly difficult. While Tex-Mex and New Mexican dishes abound, authentic representations from various Mexican states are hard to come by. However, La Guelaguetza provides a delightful experience of Oaxacan cuisine. We began our meal with tamales and followed it up with mole enchiladas for our main course. The mole, offered in three different varieties, was rich in flavor with a pleasant kick. I made sure to soak up the remaining sauce with tortillas and rice. The service was just as impressive as the food—warm, friendly, and knowledgeable. We can't wait to return and try more dishes, including the birria pizza. Reserva una mesa ahora

Mole is a genuine gem from the Aztec gods, and as a fundamental element of Oaxacan cuisine, La Guelaguetza masterfully highlights it to delight the taste buds. Birria, a dish with origins that go back before the construction of Mexico's pyramids, is cleverly incorporated into various offerings at La Guelaguetza, leading to an enchanting culinary experience.

I tried quesabirria tacos for the first time, and they were incredible! Be ready for a bit of a wait, but it’s definitely worth it, as many others seem to think the same! It’s a fantastic little place. Food: 5 Service: 5 Atmosphere: 5

The food and service were exceptional. The black mole was incredible. There are limited tables, so you may need to wait. It was quite crowded at 2 PM on a Sunday!
