. I expected that all of the guignettes would have terrible food. It wasn’t great for sure but it was passable. I had an entré of pave de Saumon sauce dugéré and it was quite good. My plat was Saint Jacques provinçale and I wasn’t sure what was in the sauce—and I wasn’t particularly fond of it. We ordered the cheese for dessert. The music consisted of an accordion player and a keyboard player and they both sang too. I thoroughly enjoyed the music. It was too cold to sit on the terrace overlooking the water so we were all inside. We would have enjoyed being outside but the restaurant was so old-fashioned and authentic that we enjoyed the ambiance. Most, if not all of the people there, were locals and everyone spoke French. That authenticated the experience for us. Many people were dancing and everyone seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves. The bill was 22E. This guignette was the cheapest local guignette I found on line and we found it to be a good investment. It was fun and a relaxing way to spend a Sunday. We took the RER D to get there.

I found out about this guinguette auvergnate in the travel book "An Hour From Paris" (Annabel Simms, 2010). With book in hand, I walked from the RER D station just after 13h 00 and the place was packed. When the owner, Jean-Pierre, saw me at the entrance with the book, he immediately came over, welcomed me, and found me a nice small table overlooking the Seine. In spite of it being full, the service was almost immediate. On my first trip I opted for the buffet lunch, and on this most recent trip I ordered from the menu their fabulous Auvergne sausage, followed by a luscious desert that alone probably could have calorically fueled my body for the entire day. The food here is fantastic. love this place on weekends in the late spring when the patrons still dance on the terrace. Looking at the dancers is like looking back in time to a France of the 1950's. Don't miss out on this "little corner of paradise."

Hoping to return this summer. Visited on a beautiful sunny Mothers Day a couple of years ago and had the most fun day of our Paris trip. Despite being fully booked Jean-Pierre found us a table and we enjoyed a very reasonable & enjoyable three course meal with complimentary wine. The place was packed & humming and everyone made us feel at home. The dancing was a little impaired by the amount of wine I consumed but what a day!Super super super and if you want to come home feeling you've experienced real Paris make the effort & get out of thee city.
