La Jarochita - Reserva de mesa

My husband and I have been trying different Mexican restaurants and Mexican food trucks around Maryland once a week just for fun. Yesterday, we decided to try this spot. There are street parking spots in front of the place, so finding a place for the car was pretty easy. The place was empty, and the women who took care of us had a bit of a broken English. When she find out we could communicate in Spanish she delivered every dish flawlessly explaining us every story behind the choices we ordered. The owner is genuinely sweet, friendly, and attentive, and her authentic Mexican recipes handed down from her mother are tops! I had a cheese jalopeño tamale and the enchiladas Verdes w/rice beans. My wife had a quesadilla w/rice beans. The freshly made green and red salsas were EXCELLENT, as was the Tres Leches cake we shared for dessert. We both had the Mexican Mango sodas in bottles that were also very good! This is a small, quaint, authentic family friendly Mexican atmosphere, with upbeat Mexican tunes in the background and festive hand cut-outs decorating the dining area. Definitely will be back with our children!

I had the verde enchiladas… dang.. I wish I lived/worked closer to Manchester because this place is a gem. I highly recommend them. Excellent traditional Mexican food with passed down recipes. You won’t get a flashy atmosphere but let’s be honest, the good places don’t need it.

Solid Mexican food (not so much tex-mex, more street taco style). Owners are very nice and are attentive. I've had better, but it's pretty good, especially since it's not in a likely spot (not in an urban area where a lot of good Mexican restaurants are). I'll be going back. Reserva una mesa ahora

My favorite Mexican restaurant anywhere. If you're looking for a great little hole in the wall, you've just struck gold. From service, freshness, quality, taste, authenticity, price, quantity, theres nothing they don't do excellent.

This is the best carry out experience I’ve ever had in my life. The food is delicious, even at home. The staff is so kind and welcoming, overall EXCELLENT experience. I finish my plate every time

All around great ! The tacos are fire and the tamales were out of bounds ! The owners talked to us and told us a lil bit about the family and food , I will definitely be back many many times !
