I had the pleasure of dining in for dinner recently, and it was a fantastic experience overall. The meal was reasonably priced at around $20–30 per person, which I found to be a great value considering the quality of the food. Speaking of the food, I would rate it a solid 5 out of 5. Everything we ordered was delicious, but I highly recommend trying the Tuna Nachos – they were a standout dish! The service also deserves a mention, as it was impeccable, earning another 5 out of 5. La Jolla serves amazing seafood and fusion small plates. The service was quick and extremely friendly; our server highly recommended the lamb, raw tuna, and scallops, and she was right on the money—every dish was delicious, particularly the lamb. All the meats are cooked on a green egg grill, which imparts a distinctive flavor. The cocktails were also excellent, though they tended to be a bit sweet. While this restaurant is on the more expensive side for Montgomery, it’s absolutely worth it for a special occasion.
I ordered lamb chops, and unfortunately, the quality of the preparation was inconsistent. Out of the nine I ordered, three were cooked to perfection, while the rest were large and undercooked. I was informed that this is how they typically prepare them. Additionally, my potatoes were undercooked and not tender at all. Given that this is an upscale restaurant, I expected better. All the staff could say was that they would inform the executive chef for future reference. Overall, it was a terrible experience!
I had a disappointing experience at this restaurant. When I called to make a reservation, the staff member was quite rude. I had to call three times; during the first call, I was put on hold, and the second time, the person simply hung up on me. Unfortunately, the service during our visit was also subpar. This was my second visit to this restaurant, and I was pleased to find that the service was just as professional as before. The cocktails were not only delicious but also beautifully presented. Once again, I left no food on my plate after finishing the meal. I can’t wait to dine here again the next time I’m in town!
I brought my wife here to celebrate our anniversary, and we had a wonderful experience. The steaks were fantastic, and the ambiance was lovely. For our meal, we dined in for dinner, and the cost was over $100 per person. Overall, I would rate the food a perfect 5, the service a 4, and the atmosphere a 5.
