My wife and I were originally attracted to this restaurant by its obvious popularity, evidenced by the number of people inside. We managed to get one of the two remaining free tables.We chose the "menu du jour" and were not disappointed when our plates arrived with our chosen starter of assorted charcuterie. We ate here most nights during our week in Loches. The food is fresh and there is a varied menu, portions are generous but not over-facing and the restaurant was busy every night with different nationalities, including french locals, so the atmosphere was good. There was a choice of eating inside or out.We had a variation of food off the menu, my favourite was the duck in pepper sauce and my husband really liked the turkey in cream sauce. We had waffles with chantilly cream every night for dessert - delicious. The wines on offer were good and cost about 9 euros a bottle. Popped in here by accident on a Monday as most of the town take a long weekend and we had planned to eat somewhere else but they were shut. Sat out on the street and chose the plat du jour which was pork fillet in a peppercorn sauce with white asparagus. The flavours were fantastic and very subtle. Our granddaughter had fish and chips and with drinks the bill was just over €20. Very relaxed atmosphere watching the world go by.
We had travelled most of the day and were really looking forward to a nice meal. Our first choice restaurant let us down and we walked from that. My wife had the Red Mullet and was really pleased with her meal. I however had a steak that had some chewing to be done but then I could not swallow !Certainly put me off the place and unfortunately didn't venture here again in the 15 days we were in Loches.

Visited Loches on a very hot market day and stumbled across this place and right in. What a gem. Checked red and white table clothes. Friendly service. Claude at his usual table inside next the bar. Stacked out with locals. Plat du jour (bavette frites) was superb. Great selection of ice cream. Great rose en pichet. A true oasis. Give it a go. You will not regret it.
For most of our holiday this restaurant was closed otherwise we'd probably have come more than once. We had a lovely dinner - nothing overly fancy but hearty, good quality and good value for money. Service was not rushed, overall a very nice leisurely meal with some excellent wine.
Seems that this is really only open for lunch. Maybe breakfast. But lunch was very good and very packed with locals. We had the plat du jour, as did everybody else. Food was good and the price was very reasonable. The service was slow but the place was packed on a market day.
Ate here Monday night- only restaurant open in Loches- fantastic service. Great steaks and desserts and staff are very friendly. Couldn't fault this place as very busy and no one left waiting. Recommend for visit when in Loches.

Very popular on a Sunday lunch time, food is good and reasonably priced. Service is usual speed, but then again it was a Sunday. Castle and main gate are very close.
