The waitress was very friendly and gave us many recommendations/suggestions for food and drink as we were feeling...overwhelmed with the many options on the menu. This review is not about the food but about their policy. We booked a table online for Saturday evening. We arrived nearly minutes late (our fault) but they kindly were ready to accommodate us anyway. However they told us that as we were late...we needed to vacate the table in hr and mins and they added that booking on line for people you get the table for hr but because we were late it was hrs. We decided to leave. I feel hours policy is already bad, but hrs??? That's ridiculously bad! Our intention was to order a course meal and a bottle of wine but how can we do that when the time is ticking so fast? Poor quality Rump steak that was chewy due to poor cooking process. Ordered medium rare and served rare with far to much salt in an effort to try and make the steak taste better. Garlic butter with little garlic. Béarnaise sauce without flavour. We used...the béarnaise as a chip dip in an effort to give the cheap frozen chips some flavour. Coleslaw salad that had no crunch due to being a left over that must have been more than hours old as the mayonnaise had checked out and left the fridge. The décor is cheesy and lacks comfort. Two of the cheapest steaks and a bottle of red at over is just not cutting it and this must have been the reason why the place was nearly empty on a Saturday evening...
Visited at the end of October in a group of Good starters including some lovely whitebait. Pleasant, friendly waitress. Then the big disappointment coq au vin turned out to be a very uninteresting, bland chicken casserole, full of carrots. Sauce taste and appearance...suggested it was probably made from stock cubes and cornflour obviously no red wine, no mushrooms or onions. This restaurant likes to give the impression of serving French food but clearly doesn't know what coq au vin is!! Would not return.
I almost passed the place for months. until I saw people enjoy so much. I entered, it looked small from inside, but what is inside is unique, beautiful, authentic and safe best menu I have seen in a dam the French menu is...not disappointed. the starters are really awesome. the meat steak, bavette. You want everything. we went there twice in the week. both of them excellent and the people who worked there are so beautiful. thanks to the cook and all.
we went to my birthday. we arrived on time, but when we had eaten the cake, the waiter arrived at the end of our experience and asked for another table. we said to him that we end the cake and leave the restaurant, but after minutes he came with the bill and the card reader asked us to pay. it was around and there were many tables still empty. I understand restaurant policy, but a bit of human touch will be helpful.

I booked La Maison du Steak for my parents birthdays. I always get a bavette steak with béarnaise sauce, and it never disappoints! The portions are large, so great value for money. I would also recommend getting sweet potato chips as they are delicious. The...staff were all really friendly, and made sure that my parents were treated well by bringing out cheesecake with candles. Definitely recommend !!
