Driving past Nancy, we needed to find somewhere for a really last minute, late lunch. Trip Advisor to the rescue.We arrived at 2pm, to find a completely full house; a Spanish coach party, no less. All thirty of them. Even though it wasn't long until closing, the chef agreed (when I said we'd come all the way from England) to get us seated right in the middle of a hectic service. You will see no bits of slate, planks of wood, smears of sauce, or foams, here. A simple, corner building café with space for about forty covers is what you'll find.We had a delicious foie gras terrine with cantaloupe melon and home made bread, then a bavette de boeuf with a gratin dauphinois. Petit restaurant très sympathique avec un patron très polyvalent et professionnel. J'ai opté pour une pièce de boeuf au gratin dauphinois. Le fromage se marié parfaitement avec la viande. Pour le désert j'ai choisi le cheesecake au citron qui n'était pas surtout écoeurant et qui apporter un plus à la fin du repas. Pour les boisons, nous avons une belle carte variée. Une amélioration possible serait de servir le vin chambré pour en profiter au maximum de leurs saveurs. Le prix est responsable pour la qualité des produits et du service.
We came here after reading reviews on TripAdvisor and had a wonderful experience. The maitre d'hotel/server was very gracious and helpful throughout our time here. The food was inventive, delicious, and well-priced. We had some wonderful local wine to go along with the food. The server was taking care of customers speaking French, English, and German, and did so cheerfully. Definitely recommend La Marianne.
On our way back home we stayed in a nearby hotel very close to the A31 and decided to have dinner at La Marianne.We were not disappointed, very good food. I had a very nice started or a wrap with chicken and my wife had cruditees. As a main I had steak and my wife had a fish dish with saffran sauce. All very good.Good price / quality ratio.

The food itself I find quite tasty, but coupled with the very reasonable price and it becomes unbeatable. The type of the dishes are well known common French dishes, nothing disruptive or unheard of, but exquisitively made and simply tastes good. The sides and desserts were not neglected or just afterthoughts, either.
It is easy to walk right past this gem of a restaurant hidden in plain sight on a corner. Great French style cuisine with daily menus, friendly service and a cozy atmosphere. Perfect for lunch while visiting the nearby Musee de L'Ecole de Nancy, or a walk in the Parc Sainte-Marie.
Our French is rudimentary, but we felt very welcome to this restaurant which served great food at a reasonable price. Every dish was cooked perfectly and a good blend of flavours.
Love this place - great price/quality ratio - the chef was wonderful and was really passionate about his work.... it was infectious... ambiance was great! food was great! try it!

This restaurant is the exemplar for my definition of 5 stars : - rapid and nice service - exquisite dishes , well cooked , well served - very fair price . That's it!
In a calm quartier of Nancy, La Marianne lives up to its reviews.. Great food.. great conversation with our host/chef and excellent price as well!
